I'm sure quite a few players have run into this when setting up contracts on very old items. When they are damaged, they cannot be contracted. Sometimes they are in a 0.0 station they no longer have access to or they're in a station 20-40 jumps away.
Why can't we repair from a distance? It'd be like calling 'em up and saying, "Hey fix this for me please!" __________________________________________________

well, if you can't dock at the station then I know you cant use the repair bay, so aside from that, no reason why you couldn't do it in npc stations, some what signed as long as you can't repair stuff in player owned stations that you don't have standings access too.

Slanty - I have no idea where in the world you live... but I want you to do my dishes, and my laundry too while you're at it. You know, just from right there at the keyboard... put the dishes away and fold the towels.
You can't repair an item in Jita using the repair bay in Ours... because the item NEEDS TO BE IN THE REPAIR BAY FIRST.
However, you could chip in to the threads about contracting damaged goods, and the repair fees being tacked onto the total cost.
--- Don't take my ranting personally. I may just be arguing the topic, unless you're saying something stupid, and then I mean every word. "Players don't want Variety. They want THE BEST" |

Oh we repair the items ourselves? I thought in this super-futuristic universe things would be automated. So silly of me to think that.
I'll check out those other threads. Thanks. __________________________________________________

It may be automated once the item is in the shop for repairs. But I think the general idea of your Hanger area is that everything is all boxed up in case you should want to load it on a ship and fly away. So you need to physically be there in order to carry the item to the shop for repairs.
I'm sure it'll make more sense, when Ambulation lets us walk around the inside of the stations. Maybe those simple Repairshop and Market buttons will be replaced with actual shopkeepers like Babylon 5 or something! --- Don't take my ranting personally.
