Very simple yet confusing problem. This is especially true when you have system names with multiple O's and 0's.
I suggest you simply put a slash through the zeros.

This really ought to get stickied in Common Ideas; it comes up a lot - or better yet, fix it ___ My views may not represent those of my corporation or alliance, which is why I never get invited to those diplomatic parties... |

The problem is the client uses default charsets that are installed by default on most people their machines. These have the same pixelmaps representing the characters which pressent them as they are (O and 0 without an slash trough them). To allow for such an font to be used where 0 do have an slash trough them there needs to be either an whole new charset that gets installed with the client or the client has to use one that has it (but not everyone might have it which gives an big ammount of problems for a small gain).
So the chances this would be changed are minimally i think but who knows.

Perhaps the option to choose a local true type font? thus giving the player a choice in how it is displayed? ie don't like the standard font that eve uses, find your own that you do like.

The letter Q should be added to the list that looks really similar to O and 0.
On a similar note, sometimes V looks like U looks like Y. Have to squint really hard on the map or directly info the star system. ------------------------ Peace through superior firepower: a guiding principle for uncertain times. |
