When I target someone who has just warped in, or undocked, or are about to dock I get the 'target is invulnerable' message. How long does this apply for, and are there any standard situations/rules that this applies to. Does it change in 0.0?
Thanks

I'm not 100% sure why this is, I know in some cases they are still in warp status and you can't target someone in warp (I heard something about indicators being able to knock someone out of warp, but not sure that they are able to target them to do so). As for undocking and such I think the game gives a few seconds for the player to have control of thier character after a system change/undocking.

ok for poster number one
1. it lasts for about 10-15 secs and yes it does happen in 0.0
poster number 2 the inters make a huge bubble in space that prevents any one from warping and knocks people out of warp blarg |

It means that either the target isn't out of warp yet (or entered warp before you could target it) or is undocking which gives in a limited time invulnerability to make up for lag due to udocking a bit.

This guy is the only reply (before mine) that really knows what he's talking about. And that undocking timer is 30s.

Also a common way that lag causes you to miss good targets. When you're camping a gate and somebody jumps through, as they align for warp you may get the "target invulnerable" message when you try to lock them. They aren't invulnerable, it's just that there was too much lag between your client issuing the "lock target" command and the server getting back to your client and the other guy's client, and he gets into warp before this is resolved.

Locking lag is hell for us tacklers
Only advice I can give is hold down "ctrl" and spam click his name in the overview until you get a lock.

It's 30 seconds from undock, unless they do anything like aligning or pressing any buttons.
In other instances you usually get this when trying to lock people in the process of cloaking off gates, or during lag where they have already warped out, not landed from warp yet etc etc. Here times differ a lot depending on the lag.

You may stop and it won't change the timer, but that's about it.
