Edited by: Demangel on 29/05/2004 22:22:09 Things I would buy ASAP if CCP put them out:
Ship models: Preferably high detail, true scale models (IE battleships being huge compared to frigates, frigates being about the same size as a micromachine. Remember those old micromachine toys?). What I would pay: $20 for a complete racial set of frigates (all gallente in one box for example, all caldari in another). $30 for a cruiser providing it was realistically scaled compared to the frigates, IE bigger box, more detail. $45 for a battleship provdiging it was around the size of a small shoebox or something. Maybe $15 per industrial :)
I would NOT HESITATE to buy these beyond how long it took me to save up the money for each set.
Perhaps a more limited selection of True model kits would be cool, IE plastic models you glue together and paint. But if I have to choose, I'd suggest selling the premade ones and not the kits if CCP can't do both. Again, Models are COOL!
Big book of EVE: Three types of books would be excellent:
Book one: Concept art and more previously unreleased source information, such as sketches of various things we only can guess about. Chapter long descriptions and info about each of the four main races homeworlds ETC. For such a book, if hardcover and with a worthy number of pages: $30-$40 easily.
Book two: World of EVE, this book would contain ALL the Peeks of the Week, all the short stories, and all of the current history of EVE, with as many illustrations as possible, and a selction of never before seen Peeks of the week/short stories, only available to those who buy the book. This book should contain a detailed starmap as well. I would pay a similar price for this book easily.
Book three: The giant book of EVE, this would combine the two previous books, and add in new content for each section as well as a much more robust source section with a multitude of technology articles and explianations (beyond what we have now), and a behind the scenes section. Essentialy this book would be EVERYTHING an EVE fan would ever want to know about EVE, from Developement history to the full background story on everything. This book would need to be rather large, and should be just as illustrated as the other two. For a book such as this, it wouldn't be unreasonable to charge $70-$100 easily.
Things I will NEVER consider buying unless I have money to burn: Everything on the current EVE store... Sure the mugs are kinda cool, and the wall scrolls nifty, and I suppose if I was a power nerd I might consider an EVE/Soon(tm) T shirt or keychain... but seriously... That just doesn't appeal to me...

A mousemat with a map of eve on it
a A3 sized poster of the eve map but have it so that you can write on it with those pens that can be cleaned off easily. This is something alot of people would be interested in. Nothing better then to have a map on your wall were you can write things like "good mining spot" "pirate ganking" "enemy mining op spot" and "home" :)

Wow the books would be great as well as the models. But how about some posters of the other tier 1 battleships as well as the scorpion? Both the armageddon and the typhoon are good looking ships that actually look like battleships and would really nice in posters. -----

Like Kieron said, there are models that are being tried out, the most recent model we have is the Megathron prototype (Taken 5 min's ago, 18 x 6 CM).
I have no idea when this stuff could be available, we're focusing on totally different things (Shiva and Castor Patch) for the next months.
Btw, If you are in or know somebody who do the total process of taking a 3D model and turn it into a product I'd be interesting in talking opportunities

Lessee ... items that might sell, cool to geeky.
1. The Scope Press Package: Large manilla or plastic envelope containing a Laminated ID card, 'microphone chip bud' cloisonne' pin, intra-empire travel papers (Gallente, Minmatar, Amarr, Caldari).
2. Various denomination isk coins (Holographic printed plastic). Individual or set.
3. Ship n' asteroids snowglobe.
4. Empire logo (fridge) magnets
5. Tabletop RPG/Miniatures rules (for when the whole set of ships are out). Avoid going with the D20 sytem (Licensed by Wizards of the Coast) if you can afford a decent team and timeframe to work on it.
6. Cardstock Station Models (punch out and assemble). Useable with the miniatures, as a desktop display, or collect a whole set and make a mobile out of them. Special Shiva sets can include all the POS's of a particular race.
7. Schematic/Blueprint posters for elite frigates - 3/4 view cutaway art with the usual technobabble explaining what makes up, say, a Claw. (See the various Technology of StarWars books with similar themes)
8. Bumper stickers: "My other ship is a Megathron!" etc. Though you might just give these away free with certain purchase levels as thankyou's.
9. Pet Furrier, Fedo, Slaver Hound and Long Limb stuffed animal toys.
10. Jettison Cans/Secure Can/Sentry Gun miniatures to go with the ships and stations above, but smaller and several per set.

Well I heard, quite a long time ago, that there were going to be novels written set in the EVE Universe. I think this idea fell through with the demise of SSI.
How about looking to publish anthologies of the best fan fiction stories written in EVE to begin with sold in the EVE shop?
If they prove to be popular why not look at commission some of the very best writers to work on full size novels? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

On that megathron model. It needs to sit so that the bottom of the ship, front and back are parallel. So the rear-end needs to be lower to the ground. Like a low-rider essay.
