Edited by: Grods on 02/08/2008 01:25:07 With T1 fit and 70 million budget, you are going to have hard times!
Are you sure you don't want to stick with 3's in a BC for a while?
If you are sure you want to do 4s, the only ship with that budget would be any tier 1 bs.
Tier 2 goes for well over 100m.
Even tier 3 battleships with full tech 2 fit cant AFK-tank everything, have to warp out sometimes when it goes bewbs up, so tech 1 tier 1 ship you need to be VERY careful.

What Grods said..
Stick to the lvl 3 missions a bit more instead of rushing into a battleship, depending on your skills. You will feel a huge difference with battleship skill at lvl 4 and able to use t2 items, especially tanking items.

should possibly add that with over 30m sp and a really bad sec status, i have no access to the level 3 lai dai agents (damn them all for being in highsec)
i can pack t2 light drones and mediums, not heavies though afaik have amarr bs5, gallente and caldari and matari bs at 4, can use t2 hybrids and lasers, and with the exception of shield tanking can t2 fit (mids, lows) everything.
my problem lies primarilly with budget and getting myself on my feet again - although if anyone wants an absolution - ive got a thermal rigged one ill happilly part with for 140m to finance this.
pretty big step im taking to become less reliant purely on killing peeps for my ships and mods but meh.
current options are pretty much restricted to a domi/scorp/geddon unless i can get that absolution sold then obv i could thron/apoc/raven/tempest it....
ideas?

Edited by: Daan Sai on 02/08/2008 15:05:04 Play to your strengths, get a geddon. When you have good heavy drone skills the domi is an awesome l4 ship, you tank it and let the drones do the hard work - just watch the drones as they often attrack unwanted aggro :)

Edited by: Sturmwolke on 03/08/2008 17:41:42 I'd take the Domi. It's a very decent Lvl 4 mission battleship, and fitted well, it can be good or better than the standard Raven with certain NPCs. A Geddon may not be ideal for the mostly Caldari missions that you'll get from Lai Dai as Guristas have a wtfpwnt resist against EM damage. A Scorpion? ... bwahahahahahaha ....
Of course, this is providing that you can level up your Hvy drones skill to decent levels - else, your DPS isn't going to be spectacular. The L4 vets typically utilize more of the sentry drones and fit their Domis with multiple drone omnilink mods and drone optimal range & damage rigs.
Drakes can do L4, but I'd avoid it unless you plan on getting friendly with the NPC ships. It's too slow at killing battleships (yes, even with 2-3 BCS II fitted).

You could probable do the mission in an sbso tbh.

I tried a lvl4 mission with a relatively good tank brutix(tech2 armortanks all the way with good skills, not so good weapons) and managed to warp out on structure and left my drones there (they got the scrambler and i didn't have time to return them). I got in, alligned and started to melt :)
With the setup i can do lvl2's without ever going into armor (and I'm a armor tanker) and lvl3's go easily. So the step up from lvl3 to lvl4 brings pain. A lot of pain.

sold my abso and invested in a t1 raven accidentally misclicked and lost my ability to do the level 3's untill i grind a level 3 agent a little (not bad though)
didnt really fit it properly in retrospect, was having huuge problems doing anything. will be packing a fully t2 shield tank in a few hours time.
active tank?

this ... it's slow, but should work.
also a Domi is cheap and a good performer. But your drones will make you easier to scan down. --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |

Myrmidon.
Cheap you-gotta-be-kidding-me-tank.
Heck, I've done most every lvl 4 mish in the list with it.
No guns, btw. Salvagers and Tractors in the highs.
Yeah, it's SLOW. So what. It's CHEAP, and I salvage as I go.
Just fit the tank for the mish.
T2 hammers can take out any NPC lvl4 BS out there, if you have enough snooze time to wait for them.
Heck, did Human Cattle, 5th room with it as well. You know the one. The whole bleedin Amarr navy.
Totally underrated ship, the Myrm. So what if it looks like an Evinrude outboard boat motor.
Just my two cents, mate.
ymmv.

I recommend you forget about the level 4 in Kinakka which is not a great area to be missioning in and take the level 3 agent. It will be slower but you will be burning through those missions much faster and you wont be getting podded in a slow moving ship fitted to be doing missions. ;)

Fly smart and you can do them in a Myrmidon. I'm only a 2 or 3 month old player and I'm soloing L4s in a Myrm. Just remember... use your resources. Specialize your fitting by mission, make sure your tank is adequate and stable, and never bullrush lots of enemies at once. Being aggressive or unprepared is a good way to die.

Boy did you EVER hit the nail on the head with that one, thunbs up! I like the Myrm, the Domi and the Typhoon for lvl 4's with a Sacrilege tossed in from time to tinme for when i need the speed to get it get 'em done quicker.
