OP: Anti-pirate whiner.
So let me get this straight, alt OP non-main person, If you had a ship locked down, it's into structure and you're convo'ing the pilot and demand x-amount of isk to let him go. He says ok and x-fers the demanded amount to your wallet, you wouldn't be pleased with the result?
Yeah, ok I believe you
Pirating (my kind anyway) is a way of life. It's not about the "lulz" of just killing for fun. I attack people for two reasons - Loot as in modules and Ransom. You pay, you go free. Simple as that. I ain't never blown anyone up that paid a ransom & I don't intend to, it's bad for business.

Wow. I mean wow. Thank you so much for linking that. Wow. I spent the first 10 minutes checking the site to see if it was a legit website and the following 45 minutes laughing and linking it to corpmates. It apparently is a real site. I can hardly believe it. Wow...

I did the same exact thing, trying to figure out if it was honestly legit. After some research, it looks like we aren't the first ones. The owners of the website have never suggested that it's satire, but they claim that dinosaurs are still alive, call anybody they can terrorists, and so on...It almost -has- to be satire. According to what I read, it's old internet news, though :( So we're just out of the loop.
Oh. Battleship quote was definitely /thread The Unit pursues invention, manufacturing, mining, and research. Evemail us if you need anything related to Science and Industry. |

That was hilarious! The review of Bully:
Quote: ...After one of the boys asked me if I wanted to play "shirts and skins", I quickly turned off the Playstation because I didn't want to see what that was (Pastor Skeet later told me it's homosexual slang)...
How does a pastor know that..?

Three words that have been said before, but apparently need repeating to help it sink into the OPs thick skull: "It's a GAME!"

I think you'll find that rather than peoples less than moral actions in eve being any sort of reflection on what they are like IRL its more that people play games like this to relax and occasionally to let they're darker urges out.

There is one, very simple reason for me being a pirate: we cut down on global warming. I'm not going to bother explaining why, but trust me, corellation = causation. Just trust me on that.
Oh, and of course! You're completely right. We should all be&have like Jesus and good ol' George, because that's the way the world was meant to be! Seriously, throw your sanctimonious bullsh!t out the window and consider what you're doing. This is C&P. What were you thinking?

Originally by: Xap Starfire Do the evil pirates (people who kill for no reason, or who kill to loot and steal) totally outnumber the righteous protectors in this game? (People who only kill bad people, and usually not for the profit / loot)
What does this say about people in society? That without the constraints of society they do not see the need for a society's general rules against destruction? That they, deep down, are nothing more than primitive animals that eat each other for food and spend all their time fighting and none of it doing productive, long term successful things?
Part of what makes us human is our societies and our order. For as long as there's been soldiers there's been civilians, and the best societies are ones where all the people in it are protected by righteous people.
Perhaps most people are animalistic, and some people are not - these people are the great leaders who can form great societies (like Jesus and George Washington) who fight against the evils of destruction...especially random and wanton destruction that results in heavy losses and few gains...
Not to say that you're "required" to be ethical when playing EVE, but why are so few people ethical when the offical rules say you're allowed to not be? Are you all such blind slaves that you only follow the offical rules, and cannot see the society underneath that can form?
Anyways, perhaps next time you want to "Gank" someone, you should consider how much harder it is to fight those who cause misery, rather than being one of the evil thugs that causes it.
we kill whoever we want we play however we want u do what ever u want we dnt complain get over it and move on eve life or was it use evil pple that kill u?
AND AND AND
can i havez ur stuff?
EDIT: i did not read all of his post hell i onli read to What does this say about people in society and it made me bored BORDEM FTW WE ALL LUV IT \o/

Edited by: DaYueJin Mk2 on 05/08/2008 21:04:45 I wouldn't be playing this game if..
I had spend my time grinding to earn fake money. If I didn't have the opportunity to spontaneously engage random people. And, if there weren't people naive enough to carelessly fly expensive ships and mods into my little corner of low-sec.
But the icing on the cake is blowing up people like the op. If that makes be a griefer then so be it, but honestly, its golden moments of extreme nerdrage like these that make it all worth doing. |

This post makes me rofl in so many ways.
And I'm technically an "antipirate".
Have you ever seen what 90% of the "righteous protectors" are like? Smacktalking, station hugging, blobbing failures, with no typing skill whatsoever.
As for being an actual AP (not an angry carebear), it's not that much different. If your corp knows what it's doing, it's going to be NBSI for the sake of security anyway, at least in 2 or 3 important systems. There is a distinct difference between securing your space and killing for lulz/profit.

I think the premise that the OP conveys is that this is a reflection on RL. Well in RL you would hurt someone and then be an outlaw, most people are unwilling to do this for personal gain. But then again the old saying "locks keep honest people honest." might be more fitting. Bottom line, it's a game, and it's not real and it does not reflect on someone's RL behavior. I personally find PvP more challenging that PvE. In PvE you read the spoilers, bring the right ship and basically collect your loot. In PvP, you never quite know what you're up against. Like running a race, train train train to either beat them or be beaten by someone with better shoes (i.e. mods/ships...) :) It's a game get over it.
