It is still there... not heavily played on.

Hey look, someone in Pure is pretty dumb. Who would have guessed?
This question pops up every so often, if you use Eve Search and search for it, you will see responses from some players on it, and some Dev responses.

Unfortunately those are more and more dated. Hopefully someone who plays on both will post here with an update. It may be a smaller group, but that doesn't mean things haven't changed since the last player update.

http://eve-offline.net/ says 3375 people on Serenity right now. Not a bad volume for that server, though.

Hint: contrary to it being reported in reputable mainstream media for several years now, it still isn't popular to single out a particular ethnicity as a source of the problem.

Does anyone know why there is an EVE China server? why don't they just play on the regular server, and don't say "too many people" because as someone above stated, currently only +3000 players...
lightbulk: I'm betting it contains a language pack in Chinese... nvm this, I read this somewhere but I'm still gonna poaaaaSt it!

Because their government won't allow to play Eve on the same servers as the rest of us.

What the Chinese government allows and "allows" are two very different things.
Then again, were I in China, I'm sure I'd have my door broken down by the police for saying that in 3..2..1..-

Probably because it would show ones ignorance blaming it on a ethnicity in general...

Wrong. They dont allow unrestricted playing from public places (internet cafT) so thats why CCP opted to run a special server instead of ignoring that market. You can play from you home without problems though. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Serenity, the EVE China server, is still up and currently running the Chinese language version of Trinity. We're planning a point release of Trinity 1.2 before the end of the year. Player numbers are holding up nicely too, given that we are a very different game compared to what the Chinese gaming market usually offers.
We had a PvP tournament on Serenity recently, the finals of which were held on the booth of CDC Games at the ChinaJoy games expo in Shanghai back in July and drew quite a crowd. Same can be said of the Walking in Stations presentation given by Eris afterwards. The Chinese playerbase is pretty stoked about the Ambulation project, and is just as proud of being EVE players as a lot of people on Tranquility.

Hey do you guys plan some RvR against the 2 populations? Like some paralel universe that got united trough a wormhole or something?
Or is it just going to stay the way it is, two separate servers? _____________________________________

It's a cool idea and one that has been mentioned before. I'd like to run some sort of server vs server tournament sometime, perhaps pitting the finalists of the alliance tournaments against each other. It's not certain if this will ever happen though. Right now it's just a back-of-a-beermat idea.
