Sorry to clutter up the forum with a random question like this, but someone in my alliance mentioned either a buff or some indirect improvement to assault frigates in the next patch. Is there any truth in that? I thought the patch was just nerfs.
Thanks in advance!

AFs aren't getting a big buff. Everything else is getting a big nerf. Webifiers won't be nearly as effective making ABs and small powerful ships "like AFs" much better.
All this assumes the changes go through. I doubt these rediculously sweeping changes will go through without a HUGE overhall. We'll see. _______________

Tbh, they need major major tweaking atm, but I think something along the general gist of them will go through most likely. We'll have to see how much it benefits the AF (or not), but the speed/agility boost to frigates/AFs base speed, if it goes through (why wouldn't it?) should aid them a lot; naturally, what is really crucial for the effectiveness of small ships and AFs are scram changes.

Would actually be interesting to see if the changes made are enough to make them valid combat ships. Or more like.. will the changes make it so that if the 4th bonus is added the AFs would be fine.
The changes around scrams/webs/agility alone would significantly tip the AF/Cruiser balance in favor of AFs, making a 1v1 between these classes an actual fight, instead a suicide show :)

Basicly: Speed mostly nerfed, AF speed boosted. MWD nerfed, AFs often use ABs (basicly as only ship class) Warp scrambler boosted, AFs quite often use warp scramblers instead of disruptors (again basicly only ship class using them). Web nerfed, small sig radius worked fine vs missile ships, but with a 90% web on you cruisers could still hit you fine, with changes you can go fast enough to prevent him hitting you.

I tested on Sisi. If an AF gets up close and personal and you're not a drone boat or a BS you're in big big trouble. I killed a Vaga and deimos one on one in a wolf.

Thanks for the info! Liking the sound of them now. I'm not far off being able to fly AFs, might just train up.

Unless I misunderstood things, AFs are also getting a fairly large reduction in mass, making them faster than they were before.
