Well i know this is probably in the wrong thread, but im sure it will actually be noticed this way. And with that said...
I'v had this bad habit of closing EvE on accident. It seems that all it takes is a little slip in the top right corner and its out cold. Sometimes when trying to adjust my chat box up there i manage to hit the X by accident. Was wondering if they should put in a "are you sure?" to prevent something quite tragic from occurring. Of course for the more courageous players there will be the "do not display this message" function.
Any thoughts? It seems like a sensible notion. And im sure we would all love not closing Eve in the middle of a battle or while mining with drones out. Tks for the time

Edited by: mqwam on 31/05/2004 07:47:02 There is a warning message, probably you disabled it. Hit escape, goto configs and click the clear button next to AskQuitGame.
edit: Yep, Sara, doesnŠt work.

AFAIK that only works when you go to Esc > Quit. Not for clicking the X at the top right. ______________

Edited by: Dust Puppy on 31/05/2004 12:17:41 and while we are on the warning subject can we please give us the change to get rid of the pop up when you repackage ships and modules?
Edit: about your request just do what I do my screen is only 1024x768 pixels so I have to drag the EVE client a bit high so I don't see the little x and stuff. __________ Capacitor research |

Surely you wouldn't object to a little check box that says "display this warning again". __________ Capacitor research |

I mostly play in window and have never "had a little slip". You guys suffer from some involuntary muscle twitches? =D

You can modify your Messages.txt file, in there is a line about repackaging, inbetween the :: put a "s" so it's :s:
I'll get you better info when I get home as I copy/pasted the information how to do it to a txt file. It's posted SOMEWHERE he on the forums...don't know where though.

Found the answer to repackage question:
Originally by: Pojo Yeah thats super annoying but here is what you can do. Go into your eve directory then res folder, there you will find the messages file. Open it with notepad, if it doesnt know how to open it just force it to open in notepad.
Here comes the tricky part but nothing hard, hit F3 and search for "ConfirmRepackageItem" it should find that entry near the very end of the file. Now simply replace the existing line with this "ConfirmRepackageItem.question=Repackage Item?:s:Are you sure that you want to repackage this item?" The only difference is this "::" becomes ":s:" you will see what that does soon.
Save the file and restart the game, next time you go to repackage something you can now add the "always say yes" checkbox. After that it wont bother you ever again. And you can also repackage multiple items at one time now without any problems.
