Lo peeps!
This post is about all the whining going on in this forum. Afaik i have never ever played a game where ppl whine this much. wheres all the ppl that appreciates a good game and dont complain about every ingrown toenail in the forums?
maybe one of the problems is that devs actually listen to the players and have given the players too much influence in game development. Most of us are acting like spoiled brats that think all we have to do is whine and petition. and as far as a know it works surpisingly often.
1. someone spotted an orethief, lets go whine in the forums and petition.
2. i was targetlocked at a gate and accidently fired back and got killed by concord. the guys that locked me obviously exploited. lets whine in the forums and petition.
3. ppl are gatecamping my favourite gate. isnt this an exploit or something. lets whine some in the forums.
4. my corp was looted cause im a dumbass who trust ppl i never met before. lets petition, whine in the forums and can i please have another cookie, mom?
5. If i have a -1.4 sec standing and targetlock ppl in a 0.4 system, they shouldnt be allowed to shoot me down should they? lets whine in local for an hour.
6. omg.. rats spawn faster if i do this or that.. i gotta whine in the forums.
7. i think its way too hard to shoot down a shieldtanked raven. obviously something is wrong with the game. i gotta whine in the forum.
8. my shield tanked raven just got shot down by a tempest.. wtf.. thats not supposed to happen. i gotta whine about it now.
9. im a dev at ccp and ppl are whining in the forums.. i gotta nerf **** cause theres obviously something wrong with the game. ill go whine a bit to my boss. maybe he has cookies too.(not sure devs actually whine to their bosses though. but i would if i was one.)
10. theres an apoc mining in 1.0.. is that really not an exploit? this has to be whined about big time in the forums.
I could go on forever. I cant possibly be the only one that thinks the whining is taken a bit too far sometimes. was i the only one that knew before i started playing that i could be shot down? thats why i play this game and not simcity.
well.. thats all i guess. now i did my part of the whining, can i have my cookie now?

I think the level of 'whining' is because the game is so involved.
How many other games are there,where you stand to lose so much in one go? People get so involved in it, and expend so much time on it, that losing a ship can be almost heartbreaking

Sorry to fall into the stereotyping but - Maybe thats the difference between the so called 'carebears' and the rest of us.When i loose a ship, i laugh and shrug my shoulders.I've heard bits of teamspeak channels where people were actually crying (yes really sobbing) over the fact they just lost their ship.
I can detach myself from it all and just say 'hey, its a game.. so what'

It is only a game. But in other online games, such as Half-life or Call of Duty, you die and you get back up. You don't lose days of hard work.

Obviously you haven't played UO, DAoC, FFXI or (early) EQ before.Die at level 44-49 in DAoC and you've lost a bubble or 2 of XP, which accounts for hours of hard mindless farming.And its allot easier to die in DAoC than it is to die in EVE.Besides, it hard to compare a long-term MMORPG to a short-term fast paced FPS like Counterstrike or what have you.
FFXI has no hard level cap, in other words: If you die just after you leveled you will drop 10% back no matter what.Which means you can at times be leveling backwards instead of forwards.
UO had corpse looting back in the days, where you lost days worth of item farming in a single death.
EQ had you running back to fetch your corpse.Remember that dragon that killed you 15 minutes ago?Well now you've got to try again, only this time.. NAKED! 
Overall I'd say this game rewards the more intelligent players, it seems to be the Darwinian amongst MMORPG's in so much that you can severely cut your losses by playing your cards right.Playing them wrong however can result in huge losses indeed.

Your right, I haven't. This is the first MMORPG I've played.
Tried Everquest and got bored within 10 minutes. This is the first one that I've stuck with. I think that's mainly because it's got big guns

11. People with a bad sec rating can't enter emperial space anymore as they've ganked way to many people in 0.1-0.4 space. That's not right? Lets whine about the hardship of improving your sec status on the forum.

Uhm, yes they can.Obviously you've never heard of insta-bookmarks before.I can be -10.0 and fly through yulai no problem.

I think its funny that YOU are whining about people whining... why don't you shut your trap and set an example. Besides... this is a game WE pay for... and its a service WE pay for... a service THEY provide to us. I think WE all have a right to say and "whine" about expolits and such... so... perhaps you need to get a clue.
