hall monitor	Posted - 2008.08.04 19:09:00 - [1] I finally figured out why I'm having trouble in EVE. It all comes down to one simple and deeply intricate truth: "EVE is WOW but you dress up in ships." That's why I couldn't get into it before because I didn't realize that I'm not driving ships; I AM ships. This changes everything. So when I go out and mine and get ganked it's like no problem because I mined in Wow and got ganked and it was ok but this time it's not some overpowered warrior with a level 6 PVP sword, instead it's some dude wearing a ship that's really heavy and bigger than mine. Then I'll be like trying to kill a mob and some rogue comes by and stunlocks me for 1 minute ...this is like those things that keep you from running away in EVE when you want to run and you can't move...pure genius. Then I can't take my ship off to sleep at night like in Wow where you get to take off your clothes but so what? I just sleep with my battleship on. If I'm in the AH buying clothes, it's just like EVE except instead of new panties I can put on a cruiser and pansy around the galaxy and show off my new stuff. Thankyou EVE I love you again and sorry for all the negativity.

That's not how it works. Smaller ships can easily outmaneuver larger ships. All it takes is a well working human brain and some planning. I love it when WoW kiddies come to EVE, completely fail to comprehend all the subtle rules, accuse the game of being a WoW in space and then leave/stay and egt ganked by real people.

If we cow-tow to one specific class of ships, or specific tactic, we are no better than WoW. He's saying: If you don't like your ship, get in another one. If you don't like changes to your style of play, or think your style will be completely broken soon, train up something different. This is NOT WoW, you don't have to completely re-roll a character because your limited skill set just got "nerfed." You can keep your old skills, and get new ones. The old ones will continue to help you, too. Edit: Ok, this is a different guy than I was thinking of, but still. You people need to be more imaginative and stop focusing on words like "WoW", "carebear", "nerf", "broken", etc.
