Yeah me and my mate are trying to figure out how to record on ventrilo, is it best to use a program ie fraps or is there an internal recording method like on teamspeak?

first off, in most countries they have legalities against this unless the other party (aka whoever else is on the other end speaking) agrees to being recorded, some in print/black and white/legal papers/etc.
Secondly, to record, your sound setup should allow for recording. Most sound cards have a way to record "what you hear", or at least on my Audigy, I have this option. AFAIK, built-in sound solutions that are on most motherboards cannot do this, limitations maybe. -

it definately used to be possible to record direct from Vent; it recorded everyone's voice individually so you could remove overlap (among other things). Can't seem to find the option for it on current version tho. ...

There are laws for recording conversations, but they mainly apply to 'telephone' conversations. Also, if it is a public vent there is no expectation of privacy.

Still, just to be on the safe side, have your corpies state on the audio that they're allowing to be recorded.
We had a legality issue a year or so ago regarding this and a minor who was a former corpmate, when his parents snooped around. -

If it's a minor any agreement is void because he doesn't possess the legal capacity to enter into an agreement.
