An old UO forum. I think it was just called "Andrew's" - and it had a cell-based web chat that went with it. ---------------- Ambulation Answers

I date back to the internet pre-forum, when we had mailing lists and discussion went straight to your inbox
of course this was prior to alot of things we take for granted now but I must say, alot more fun with forums

I'm pretty sure it was the Planetarion forums back in late 2000, or maybe early '01. I can't be sure though - my memory is pretty hazy, it was a damn long time ago.

My first was a forum for Tribes 2. Wasn't the official forums (don't even know if they had them) but it was a forum for a server I played on all the time.

It was some programmer's forum (Visual Basic) on CompuServe back in 1996
Edit: btw I almost got kicked from the company on several occasion for serious bills received from the tel company and CompuServe. Though the provider was located abroad I always loved to browse the content to my own enjoyment. OMG, finally the company decided to pull the plug and they bought a regular Internet connection that could be called locally. I remember using Internet Explorer 2.0 for a short while then IE 3.0 came. Think that was around we moved from Windows 3.1 to Win 95. The bills came on but they were less threatening to the company's profitability than before --------------------------------------------- Unclouded by conscience, remorse or delusions of morality. |

Edited by: Mangala Solaris on 05/08/2008 18:53:51 Lonely Planet's Thorntree forum, back in 2000 or so when it was possible to post without registration (its reg based now, and BBC owned too, which means harsher moderation than we had back in the day). They got stricter around 9/11 and eventually went registration necessary after that.
First gaming forum I am a little hazy on its either Simtropolis or the Bioware NWN boards. -------

Fun topic. Almost everyone has some game related forum.
Not sure which was the first one I posted on, but the first one I spent a lot of time on becoming a regular poster was www.kawiforums.com, though it had a different url when I joined. Was different alltogether actually, different peeps running it then, and I was nuts about riding.
