What are you talking about? It's obvious that these proposed changes have no possible unfortunate side effects for carebears because carebears are dumb and CCP is a bunch of carebears and their butts smell because they are ugly and they smell their own butts. ---------------- Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.83 (Updated 7/3) |

Edited by: Alora Venoda on 06/08/2008 15:25:17 could they not just make a condition of insurance voiding that you are credited on the killmail of the same ship that you have CONCORD aggro against? shooting some wreck that doesn't belong to you would not be the same, and therefore you only lose insurance for (successful) suicide ganks.
1. you lost your ship while criminally flagged 2. if yes, are you credited for killing any ships to which you are flagged? 3. if yes, insurance is voided
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |
I'm sure this change will be implemented in a way which has no side effects and in no way causes unintended harm to those who whined for said change. -
If someone "accidentally" shoots something and gets CONCORDED and doesn't get insurance, then that seems like a good thing to me.
Let them whine about it. It will teach them to be more careful. |
The only danger I see are all those stupid structures in deadspace that if you "accidently" hit you get concord.
Please remove non-"WANTED" structures from deadspace, so smartbombs and other assorted AOE goodies don't bring down the wrath of God to protect a hollow asteroid. Thanks! //// ---------=== []= ---------=== \\\\ Rifter(RedBad)
This thread suspiciously looks like those nano threads where the nano***s after the nerf were foaming at the mouth to tell everyone else that they will just find a new setup and still own everyone else.
In other words: "this was nerfed but here are the repercussions."
Kind of weak really.
Besides, anyone who is so inexperianced to be shooting his own cans is probably going to be in a T1 Frigate anyway...lol
The problem with what you propose is that if the suicide gang fails... the ganks get full reimbursement for thier ships. Only if they successfully carry off the operation with they take the insurance loss.
I don't think that's what everyone has in mind.
You'd better be careful with your choice of words. This sounds remarkably like the old party line of "EVE is a cold, harsh world where nobody cares about you." You should be aware that the new party line is "EVE is a fun game with lots of great things to offer casual gamers who can't be bothered to learn to play the game, which is why we're dumbing it down, one nerf at a time."
well i am pretty sure most would agree shooting some can, wreck, or non-WANTED deadspace structure (ie- smartbomb hits a gas cloud) should not void insurance, but i can see how even attempting to suicide gank someone should...
the bottom line is that if player_A shoots player_B in hi-sec, but doesn't kill him, there is no way to tell if that was an attempted suicide gank. it could be an accident, or just messing around.
i think a good compromise would be to void insurance when you criminally aggro a player's ship with an active pilot inside. shooting wrecks, or other objects, even abandoned shuttles and rookie ships, etc, can be easily ruled out and still allow insurance for "criminal acts" that are not direct attacks. and of course any non-player objects like stargates or gas clouds in deadspaces would also be ruled out. ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
NO!
If this change goes through, it would be increadibly unfair if it did not apply to all cases of unlawful fire in high sec. You stinking whiney little carebear brats are not going to weasel your way out of this one too.
I can't wait for this to happen.
In fact I saw it happen the other night to two unfortunate individuals. Corp mate got aggro to a Rokh pilot (and to the Rokh pilots corp). Corp mate flies back to the Pokh pilots mission with 1 minute aggro left on the Rokh pilot and 2 seconds for the Rokh pilots corp. Two of the Rokh pilots corp mates lock and fire on my buddy. To bad for them they were not paying attention. Bye Bye two crusiers to Concord. Was very funny.
And the faction fit Raven that got Concorded just cause he was repping his buddy when his buddy decided to shoot at one of us just cause he got a little confused on how aggro works in Hi Sec.
Yes, the tears will flow.
Ok, *I* am (arguably) a carebear myself. BUT The combined penalty in security status AND the removal of insurance for ganks ?
STUPID
It's almost as if you want highsec to be pretty much completely safe. In other words, even LESS of an incentive to move out of it. Not that there was any serious incentive to do it before, but now that incentive dropped even further.
I really wish they invented that choke/stab/punch over the internet device, I'd put it in overdrive mode.
