Since the insurance changes are much lauded by the carebear community, CCP how about giving back something to the pvper's/gankers that make eve so great?
Let's remove insurance payouts on self destructs too. That way, ppl who self destruct instead of engage in a fight will now have to think twice.
No insurance companies pay you if you deliberately crash your car into something, afterall.

I concur. This would be a good idea as well.

To be honest, with things the way they are going, I'm finding myself opting for something I never thought I would be, which is removing insurance altogether.

why not make it a player run insurances program. Where corp or alliances does the insurances policy so there is no free isk flying around because the whole corp or alliances is paying into the insurances system. Artillery cannons = Worst Dps, tracking, range and ammo cap. No cap... Why do we need cap for anything els if your sniping. |

No, it would hurt the feelings of the player who self destructs.

Help me protect the feelings of all the players instead.
Its essential to the new Eve atmosphere that nobody feels hurt.
I support a group hug as long as everyone are loving friends with the universe. We are all one.

I think this is a great idea, and tbh, OP, I'd make an Assembly Hall thread on it to see what kind of support it gets.

As someone vehemently in favor of removing insurance for suicide ganks, I am just as much in favor of removing it for self destructs as well. And even completely removing it (maybe only after a certain number of kills or months of play though to cater to n00bs) does not seem unreasonable. It would at least make losing a battleship mean something again in PvP. And if you are reading this, you have arrived at the signature without noticing...
