Quote: Sorry kid nothing at the moment. Could you come back later.
This is what my agent suddenly starts telling me for over a week now, after doing a bunch of sucessfull missions.
No this isn't a low level agent that gets bored, those work fine. It is a lvl3 quality 15 agent (Lai Dai) and my effective quality is 32!!!
This doesn't make any sense. Any idea what is going on here

I'm not sure, but I have a theory.
I think that lvl 3 agents, once you get to a certain standing, have an option to refer you to a lvl 4 (as an important mission). However, this is blocked with the stupid response you mention until lvl 4s are in game. Until you run out of time on that mission and a different mission is made available (that is, next random mission could also be lvl 4 referral), you get stupid message.
Alternatively, each lvl 3 agent has a limited number of important missions (in total) that they can give out over a certain period of time.
Maybe Papa might share with us?

Edited by: Calio on 01/06/2004 11:07:22 This is a bug and there's no fix in sight yet. My 2 Lai Dai agents have been doing it for weeks now. Best find another agent (from the same corp, or new corp) to work for.
See the "Agent Bug?" thread for more posts on this issue.

You say it is a "bug". How do you know? Why does it involve a statement that had to be programmed? I think it is a "feature".

1) Because it has been getting worse over the past several weeks. it used to be that the agents would become 'un-busy' when the sevrers were reset the next morning. Now they are permanently busy once they get busy.
2) see my post about exploiting it in the "agent bug?" thread. You can get missions if you keep clicking and they are always 1 type of mission - one of the ones that is sometimes an important mission.
3)Because when I petitioned it back when it first started for me (and the agent was still becoming available again after morning server reset), the CSR said they "are looking into it" but there was no fix on the way yet, and that I would just have to wait for the morning resets to resume using that agent.

Its also a bug in that if you keep pestering the agent through repeated 'nothing available' messages, the agent eventually will awared an Important Mission - though nothing of any great shakes.
After 3 IM's in a row (all 3 were the exact same mission), I gave up. Petitioned, but got a 'Everything looks fine from this end, petition again if it persists' response from the responding GM.

If you keep clicking until you get a mission, then decline that mission, it will fix the agent, at least for some time.

declining a mission when your standings are in the 9 area hurts...

Yes, it does hurt, I can tell from looking at my own standings
But not being able to work for your favourite agent hurts more IMHO. Besides, you could try to petition for a GM to reimburse the standing you lost.
