Edited by: Sylena on 01/06/2004 15:49:58 Greatly detailed document btw. Looks like some good\interesting changes for the better. Just 1 thing u may want to add in this warning msg.
you will receive a security status penality and might bring CONCORD to enforce the law by destroying your ship. Are you sure you want to activate this module on your target?
you will receive a security status penality and might bring CONCORD and\or SENTRY GUNS to enforce the law by destroying your ship. Are you sure you want to activate this module on your target?
That little msg may cut down on alot of petitions.

Presumably, the flag will remain for 15 minutes after hostilities ceased. So, dropping out of gang in mid-battle will result in exactly nothing (since the people agressing are criminal flagged towards you after battle commences).

Apologies if this has been mentioned previously or somewhere else, but you could do with a list of modules which do and do not count in the Aid category.
So, for example, currently the tests cover Shield and Energy transfer devices. Should they also include items like remote sensor boosters (for example, sitting at a gate boosting your friend to sub second lock times), and exclude items like a cargo scanner; or should those allow you to be flagged under certain circumstances as well?
Additionally, it raises a couple of (minor?) questions about items such as missiles; will these no longer drop to zero damage on warp entry, and additionally, will there be any way to stop being flagged through accidental damage if someone runs into your missile? For example, could you in the extreme have a player sit in a battleship in the direct line of sight of two people fighting and intercept the missiles being fired (or do they dodge?).
Nice document though :)

I did not understand everything but I think it means if someone attacks you in 0.0 and jumps in high sec system then you can chase the attacker anywhere, maybe with your corp helping you. This is going to change gate camping a bit.

At first glance, you only refer to aiding as use of shield or cap transfers, but what about where you give aid via tracking/sensor links or ECM projectors?
They should fall into the 'aid' catagory as well.
Otherwise it looks sweet as far as I have read.
I just hope the gang bugs are sorted as well before then.
I think this will lead to smaller gangs as scouts or alts will remain outside the gang to avoid attack by enemies however so that cannot be avoided.

Yay! thank you. That should suffice nicely, especially as the 15 mins. won't start until after they completely cease-fire. And the day an in-empire engagement lasts 15 minutes at one spot i'll eat me mohawk

Correct, the player does not loose the flag he has been given, he only looses the "ability" to inherit flags from gang activities. _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |

Whats even funnier is if they were using AS400's or higher they wouldne never have to reboot just once a week IPL

It all sounds pretty good, except for the gang thing. Here's where I see that going.......
Player A: "Oh no, My poor little corp of noobs (2 of us) is being harassed by these guys in combat frigates. There are only 3 of them, but they attack us everytime we try to mine. We just can't get ahead. Won't somebody please help us?"
Player B: "3 little frigates? pffft.... Come gang with us little frigate. :) Our mighty cruisers will protect you while we mine together"
Player A: "Thank you! Thank you! You're a god among spacemen." (player a warps into the belt, activates mining laser, then passivly targets and scans the rest of the mining crew)
A few minutes later a fleet of 6 scorpions warps to the belt and amazingly knows exactly what everyone's loadout is.
Player C: "Miner scum. You've ganged with our arch enemy. We will now gank you with concords blessing"
There's warp scrambling, there's explosions, much screaming and anguish, but even if you dump the new kid out of the gang they still have 15 minutes to kill you.
Amazingly the only one not podded is defensless little player A. Tomorrow his alt is flying one of the scorpions and it's someone elses turn to be the poor little oppressed noob miner. I'd say the chances of this happening within 24 hrs of this patch are about 100%. :)

Which, dependent on model can take upwards of an hour to maybe three or four dependant on storage ..... then do a file re-org or apply a cumulative pack every quater and watch 24 to 36 hours disappear in one chunk.
20 mins a day rocks ... we like 20 mins a day, just enough time for a shower

5. Activating aggressive area of effect modules in empire space.
Example area of effect module: Smart bomb / ECM Burst.
Testing checklist: 1. Activate one of these modules in empire space. Make sure you get this confirmation message.
Check: Does the character get a confirmation popup with the specific message in green (changed it to bold for the forums ) directly below? Check: If the character confirms the activation, do the police respond, does he get penalised, does the module activate properly? Check: If the character rejects confirming the activation, the module should not activate and the character should not be penalised in any way.
Additional: Keep an eye out to make sure the logic that gives you this message does not mistake non-area of effect modules and give you it for them.
Warning - You are about to activate an area of effect module
This module activates an effect in the area around you and will be considered as an attack to all targets with in the field of the effect, if there any innocent targets within the area effect you will receive a security status penality and might bring CONCORD to enforce the law by destroying your ship. Are you sure you want to activate this module on your target?

Well, it wasnt actually PIE doing the shield transfers, but thats beside the point.
Would the Apoc have become vulnerable to Oracle just because CorpX was shield transferring? I thought that would only happen if the Imp Apoc was in a gang with Corp X?
Not in the gang, but accepting shield transfers anyhow?
This system is gunna take some getting used to.

Actually, it's not sacrilegious in the least. In order to be so it'd have to be greatly disrespectful towards what is held religious.
Examples of this would be insulting a church, or going against a particular aspect of the domonating religion(s) of your region. For example, eating a hamburger in front of a hindu is considered sacrilegious.
All he was doing was having fun. And if someone took that seriously enough to become offended then they have some issues methinks. He was not presenting it in a serious manner nor as religious dogma, nor was he speaking out against any church or religious institution. Again, it was all in fun and i can only hope a majority of people took it as such

No I think it means the flag is there indefinitely until you stop agressing in the second solar system, including the flag from the first solar system. So you could end up flaged a criminal in 10 systems for 6 hours, if you managed to commit enough criminal acts in those 10 systems while you travelled through them. And kept it up for 6 hours
I could be so wrong though
