I know ive seen alot of discussion regarding the CA and its actions on these boards and discouting a little smack I would like to share my thoughts...
The CA and C4 alliance have mad this game worth playing for me, I know not of a better group of players I would like to play with than the guys of the CA, sure there is a little drama when Crice starts getting mad...but in general ive found the CA to make this game for me, nothing more fun than having a fleet with a translator because half your guys speak Russian and Xirt is spouting out to kill next...
When i needed help CA was there, when i needed someone to talk to during a trip to empire CA was there... sure there is some hate from outside but Duke and Xirt are of top caliber personalities and im quite happy to be under their command...
Ive bought MANY millions of tech 2 from Xanadu and I find them to also be great guys despite there being weenies at times... SA as well, most of our enemies are low smack and ive found us to be the same from time to time with both sides adding a little drama from time to time...
....I love you guys
*yes i may have had a few drinks at this writing*

I think the bigger an alliance gets, the more rotten apples it has.Since CA is so big, they have rotten apples in abundance, and thus get a really bad name as being the "13 year old smack-talker who stole daddy's creditcard"-Alliance.

Which, as you point out only applies to a minority. Same goes for all groups of players. The bigger the group, the more some diverge from the set standard of behaviour.
Now of the set standard of CA were talking smack wherever possible I'd agree that CA is 'teh smack alliance of eve'. It is not however, so it does nto apply.
Annyway, good post, letting know once in a while that even thru all the bickering and flaming you still have respect for your ingame enemies is worth your while. _______________________________________________

I agree. I'm not really a bad person to be honest. The only reason I usualy go off on one is because people start on me. Obviously I'm going to shout back if someone starts on me right? ----------------------- ╔╤╗╒╕╔╕║║/ ║│║╘╛║╘╝║\ ----------------------- |

This is the cause of all smack wars retaliation, if you don't give them the satisfaction of an agressive reply then they will get bored very quick. The best way to deal with any sort of smack or direct virbal attack is take it with a pinch of humour and just reply with something they will not expect.
Edit, As for CA hate, I can understand various political views but in general all the guys I have had contact with have been ok.

Wise words. Just wish people wouldnt start the smacktalking off in the 1st place but I guess some people are out there just to annoy other people! ----------------------- ╔╤╗╒╕╔╕║║/ ║│║╘╛║╘╝║\ ----------------------- |

What has your home and CA got in common?
Eventually we may own them!
Made me laugh anyhow, and you never know, at least half of it might come true... Eventually

I think we have been fairly amiable with the Xetic guys, especially when they field a large fleet to fight. The smacktalk between m0o and SA and such is the result of old grudges, and there is actual hostility between us. With Xetic we don't really dislike any of the people we're fighting, so we're pretty nice.
We rarely smacktalk after a fight, its usually when we're all ready to go and the enemy runs away that we get frusterated and start talking in local. The Xetic guys from the E8 battle yesterday can tell you CA can be very respectful.

i just don't like alliances, period. they are for the weak. those corporations that can't survive on their own join alliances. alliances don't make the game fun either - mostly blobs, smacktalk on the forums. i'd much rather see the rise of individual corporations rising to the levels of alliances, alliances not claiming 10 regions and then sitting in their HQ, docked, hiding from the invaders. However, since i think alliances are here to stay - its fun owning them sometimes, so well...WHEEEEEEEEEE.

Alliances are ghey for many simple reasons:
1. You don't have the final say in anything, you always have to take into consideration other people's point of view, and "feelings". **** people!
2. While an opportunity for pvp, there are much easier and more rewarding types of pvp than seeing which side can out-blob the other. When there is a big fight, it usually ends up being laggy to some extent.
3. YOU DONT NEED TO BE IN AN ALLIANCE TO SURVIVE IN 0.0 - WHY JOIN ONE?
4. Lots of stupid people will give you a bad image. _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. "Can I be a consultant for EVE II?" - WhiteDwarf |

Its much easier to find PVP with CA seeing as there are juicey XIF targets everywhere
and when you need money its much easier if you have an alliance station to haul the Arkonor to

Finding PvP is much much much easier when you're solo. Just go to any system without CONCORD and start shooting people. Might get you a label as a pirate, so try to pick on alliances only and label yourself "Terrorist" or something

You know, if you are part of this alliance you don't notice that anymore, the bad apples suddenly are all nice guys who know exactly what they are doing. Their just people who like to play the game, and play their own little role in it.
We play the role of an evil alliance, since that is what people seem to want so desperate. How many players do you think who have stayed because of us? __________________________
