Hi guys, the rules say no podding and combat by consent only.
I agree with that but for training purposes is podding allowed if both parties consent? i.e. Along with the 2 people fighting a 3rd or more people witness the statement so it is in everyone's logs that they fully agreed to podding.
I see nothing wrong with it and obviously you can't practice catching pods on Tranquility for 2 reasons...
1. Durrrrr 2. The speed of everything is likely to change so you may have a pod catcher one day and after a patch need to practice all over again costing more implants and TQ pods.

If you have consent it is fine. But then theres the off chance the person only gave you consent so he could go on IRC when you pod him and get you banned, so watch out. |

Edited by: Matalino on 07/08/2008 19:34:18 You will only get in trouble for pod killing if the other person complains.
So if they don't complain, then you are fine. If they do complain, you will probably be banned from the test server.
So if you think that there is any chance that they will complain, then just don't pod them. Originally by: Stryker347 I see nothing wrong with it and obviously you can't practice catching pods on Tranquility for 2 reasons...
You don't need to kill the pod to test your ablity to catch a pod. If you can get a point on the pod, you might as well call it dead.
The main reason for the rule against pod kills is to avoid any potential problems with skills lost if the person doesn't have an up to date clone.
Combat is by invitation only so that you don't interfer with other people's testing.
Basicly, the ultimate rule on the test server is play nice. If you are being a jerk or otherwise interferring with peoples' testing, you can expect to be banned from the server.

We have clone facilities where we test anyway so it's 0 jumps to get back and a seeded station is 2 jumps away :)
What I mean about catching pods is we practice fleet engagements in 0.0. Not 1v1, I mean 20vs20. So practising grabbing the pods before they escape the bubble or shake our cepters.
Thanks for the the confirmation guys, any chance of a GM/Dev confirming it though as some people still seem to think if you pod kill then Iceland will explode.

Well, even if consent is given, there are some implants not seeded (Virtue comes to mind) and the general you-know-a-bug-might-screw-everything-up with it being Sisi and all if you get podded. I wouldn't do it, even with consent. I don't know how many times in the Test channels and IRC it says the same thing, over and over: No Podding. Ever. You can do anything you like, but like I said, why go thru the motions of podding when you can get damn near 98% of the information and simulation you need without squishing it?

if they complain it may be a problem - things that can go wrong are that the system your clone is in is not loaded - this seems to mess up on sisi when you jump in and you may find that you cannot log in anymore
