Edited by: Atomos Darksun on 08/08/2008 08:30:35 Oh god.
They've taken the best part of the prequels (The Clone Wars series) and PREQUELED it up into a load of OMFGBQQ ANAKIN SKYWALKER IS PWNTANG (when he's actually an annoying brat, and now he has another annoying brat hanging out with him).
Not to mention the CGI is 1,000 times worse than the animation of the series...
Edit: Trailer for those of you who haven't seen it and want to puke all over it

The prequels "looked" "badass" too, and I guess they would "look" that way if you just turned off everybodies voices.
But this doesn't even LOOK good.

I may go and see it, but The Force Unleashed looks like a much more interesting story with better graphics .
And for the record, I think the prequels weren't bad. Episode I is actually really good if you ignore Watto and Jar Jar. Episode II is actually passable, and Christensen isn't that bad here, and Episode III? I don't think anybody paid attention to Christensen until that scream at the end, because Ian McDiarmid completely owned the screen and gave it his all.
Episode I will definitely age fairly well, as will III, II might suffer a bit though.

I don't particularly like the graphics they are using for this, and some of the characters seem a bit dodgy.

I've been on the fence about this really. On one hand I support people trying new styles of animation and pushing the envelope, but this just seems...watered down. Like it's Episode 1 all over again except with a different comic relief character. ---------------- Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.83 (Updated 7/3) |

This doesn't look like a new animation direction it looks like Lucas trying to recapture the 8 year old crowd he lost with Episodes II and III.

Eugh, I refuse to buy force unleashed solely on the basis of one of the trailers. I dont care how strong you are, you should not be able to crash a star destroyer with the force.

I seem to recall Yoda did that once too, and at some point the Emperor did it too (and buried the thing). Also Luke Skywalker moved the edges of a group of artificial black holes.

I do hope that Jar-Jar Binks has a large and important role to play in the new film. He was by, far and away, the most annoying inspired character created by George for Episode I.
I'll wait for my pal knock-off Nigel to bung me a copy. Cause Georgie boy you owe me after I,II and III.

I made a big hullabaloo about that when it was first released. It's just not possible, dammit.

Does anyone else kind of wish something had happened to George back in the 80's so he could never have made the prequels or this?
I don't know what exactly and it seems kind of cruel but then we'd just have this beloved classic and we wouldn't have to watch the guy that made it digging it up and sodomising it's corpse.

Now there there that's abit hrasch now is it
I think the main problem is that the prequels are made so much later then the original SW parts IV, V, VI. Where the classics are mostly hand made models, created sets and as of now out of date SE, the prequels are 95% made against a blue(or green) screen and computer made, and obviously it shows. The possibility computers have made imo the prequels completly over the top, whereas I can remember I was completely blown away when I saw for example the Hott battle scenes.
Now it's something like yeah yeah, we know what computers can do. And then there is the acting itself offcourse....

Don't bet on it. Try watching some of the "Making of.." trailers about this thing. It sucks, bigtime. Its another one of those movies/books trying to make Anakin be the hero types while every other jedi is a "get". Anakin will even have his own biotch padawan. Yes you heard me, they're giving the guy his very own padawan. As if he could hack being a Jedi in the first place. They're also trying to make the clones...not clones. Clones will have facial tatoos and different hair styles as well as personalities and they even graffiti their vehicles with their own personal stuff. They're trying to make them more loveable so that you "I want to see the clones as people". WTF? Not even the jedi wanted to see them as people. There is even hints at a clone romance. Double WTF?!
This is why you don't let hardcore fanboys make movies.

George Lucas really should've made a Force Unleashed movie. He had the acting talent there(Sam Witner for the Battlestar Galactica fans here) and it from the looks of it, has a decent storyline. Or he could have splurged and made a full length motion picture of Shadows of the Empire. He'd stated if he'd had the story for Shadows back when he was making the sequels, he'd have made a Shadows of the Empire movie, so why not now with all the technology.
Anakin Skywalker was portrayed poorly in the prequels, the whole prequel era was terrible, Phantom Menace being the most marketed garbage movie I've seen in a long while. Attack of the Clones was lackluster, and Revenge of the Sith made me want to kill myself with all the emotional crap that was taking place.

Edited by: Jacob Mei on 10/08/2008 06:08:00 George Lucas would put Dracula to shame if he were a vampire, and Star wars was his victim. Seriously, how much more can this guy suck out of the francise?! -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

I can't help but think that it looks like a CGI cut scene from a minor Star Wars computer game. Every time I see the posters, I think "Hey, they've made a game for thee new Star Wars film", before realising that that IS the new Star Wars film... ------
