Basically players either don't care enough about the game to have sufficient insight, or they have so much invested into the game that it's clouding their judgement.
People who are sufficiently even talented that they don't excel at a particular playing style, who care enough about the game to try every aspect and who are altruistic enough so that their judgment isn't clouded by their own interests in the game... they're rarer than gold.

99% of the whining on MMORPG forums (And this includes EVE) consists of:

1. I like to exploit! Don't you dare take away my exploit!/I like this exploit so it's not an exploit at all!
2. I can't adapt. Nerf the parts of the game I don't understand.
3. I'm sure the grass is greener on the other side. Make the grass on this side greener!


Add the part where any test server either has a too limited population or a significant part of the population that are trying to skew the results to tweak the game to favor their own playing style. Well...
