Hi guys,
Recently started to get bored of my artillery claw, as it misses alot vs frigs/other inties so i wana try the close range claw out. However messing around with EFT i cant seem to find an appealing fit.
The best i came up with was:
3x200m IIs
Rocket launcher
MWD II
best named distruptor
Damage control II
2x OD IIs
1x Nano
Now, the dps is quite pathetic (116) next to no tank, but pretty good speed (6561 without implants/boosters/gang bonuses etc). So is that the best i can expect?Ive heard alot of good things about a up close claw, but im not impressed by EFT atm xD
Any suggestions? :P

Cat MWD, Point/2
400mm Tungsten, MAPC, Faction Mag Plating, SAR II
Tis the sex. Accidently auto aggroed 3 crows the other week and tanked the gate timer

EDIT: In fact, after the patch a AB and Scram may be pretty sweet and allow even more fitting. Wish I could work out how to get on SiSi to test it, wouldn't be sat staring at this damn bubble.

Hmm, just checked it out on EFT, seems very slow to me  (only 3900 with my skills) does that make any difference while fighting other inties? I'd imagine it would due to having no web?

They'll have to stick around tbh. You should have joy against close range taranis/mal pilots, solo dictors might find they've made a mistake too. But this does kind of rely on them finding out too late that they've got to bail. Deciding when to run in an inty is a much underlooked skill however, a lot of pilots aren't so good at it. Added to this, one of the great things about this ship is the uncanny knack it has of scoring wrecking shots as your oponent gets to 8-9k out :)
If things go pear who really cares? It's a cheap and nasty little ship. I feel like a right hard bastard everytime I get in one.

If your going to go for close range fit you better buffer tank. Just a plain T1 frig will kill any of the close range ceptors if they dont have some sort of hp tank.

QFT, the plate claw is my favorite by a large margin, just because you have a rediculous speed, a massive buffer(for an inty), and extremely nice damage(for an inty). The feeling of invincibility is cutomary with this setup because if you dont you will run from every fight ever(or try), or die due to hesitating. when fighting other inties i think this setup does well regardless of the speed, as most inty pilots think that all they have to do is spam orbit and F1-F4 to win. i think post patch this setup with an ab will be absolutely amazing, throw on some snakes or even halos(VERY cheap, post patch im goint to make the assumption that snakes will be getting cheap aswell) and it will be pure pwn:)

The plate claw has its ups and downs - the main down being that when it's caught off-gate by a ranged ceptor it flails and die's... just slowly.
Fitting a claw for pure speed with 250's in the current age of ceptors is a very effective way to survive. The only problems it will encounter are against Sader's.
The plate claw may come back though with the new changes. however the wolf will still do everything it does better. MWD and speed are what make it worth the while, failing that the stiletto is a very effective ceptor.
