I am looking to purchase a Obelisk but not sure if I should wait until someone has a "WTS contract" or should I use "place buy"? What are the trade off between the two purchasing methods?

Contract:
+ Entire server can see the contract
+ Notified when the order is filled
- Contract only lasts 2 weeks
- Because Freighters cant be modded, less likely to find one being sold there
Market:
+Buy order can last 90 days
+Price willing to pay can be adjusted (I believe)
-Only the region you put the buy order can see it

whatever you do don't fall for the freeform contracts i often see 'selling' obelisks.

That's not the point, I think jabrone was trying to find out whether Vaal Erit was trying to pull a forum scam, which AFAIK isn't allowed.

Scamming is allowed on the forums, just not GTC/character scams.
