... if there is such a thing.
Can anyone tell me a nice setup to use with one of the minmatar cruisers out there? Also - to what level of mission can i go with it? Should I stick to lev2 (i'm not receiving them yet, but for when they will unlock) ? I was thinking about having a ship I can run (lucrative) missions in, until I learn all my learning skills - hopefully lev2 missions and a cruiser will be what's needed. Does that sound ok ? Is this how it's done ?

I'm not so good with Minmatar ships (see: don't know squat). But from what I gather, it's going to be the rupture. You'll hear a bunch of replies telling you to cross-train to Amarr or something because later on you won't be tickled pink with Minnie BS (all forum talk, don't quote -me- specifically).
But yeah, hit up the rupture. Look for fits on the thread titled, "Ship setup index," in Ships and Modules. I'm sure they've got more than a few.

You won't be able to run "lucrative" missions in a cruiser by any standard. You will be able to do level 2 missions fairly easy and near-max skilled players can do a few level 3s in them, but that's about it. The skills required are the excact same as you'll need in the Hurricane for lvl3s, so it's a good time investment, even very early.
Rupture is the ship to do lvl 2s in though, check out the sticky in this forum and find a 650 artillery setup you can fit and take it from there. It's also the first ship you can fly that can field a full set of light drones, and they are very effective for low SP mission running, just as a hint ;)

Minmatar is a bit underwhelming when it comes to missionrunning in general. We do ok at lower levels, but any race can breeze through those. At the BS/lvl4 level we're definalty the slowest to complete them. Thing is though, missions is a rather small part of the game for most players and there are other treats to minmatar (yes, Im aware of the current issues on sisi.)

I am currently running lvl 2's in a rupture, i use a medium and a small armor rep 2 rat specific hardners and a damage control II, to make it last longer when you've got it all switched on train up energy managment and energy system operation, in the meds fit a large cap battery II and a cap recarger, the two work together nicely
In spite off what one reply said minmatar can run lvl 4's ok, as we all know gurista's are the easiest thing to tank against, may i suggest a maelstrom, but to be honest they all would be able to tank ok, but minmatar in general are very skill intensive so if you really want to make a career from missioning i suggest cross training to caldari as thats what they do best.

I didn't say we can't do them "ok", we can and do. It's just that we're weaker than the other races at it. All our BS are capable of tanking them (Mealstrom very easily), but we're not dealing the hurt as good as...well, pretty much any other race, our BS deal 750-800dps in setups where other races are breaking 1000.
I fly a Mealstrom as my money maker, and it does ok-ish. Thing is, I can do them in about the same time as a Raven pilot who has the same total SP as I have in gunnery can (10 mill). Hence my comment that minnie aren't really the greatest at npc-ing.

Looks pretty solid. I'd switch the Acolytes for a full set of hobgoblins, EM drones in general are a bit underwhelming.

Totally Awesome COMBAT JUGGERNAUT Comedy Bellicose:
3x Type-D Shield Power Relays (sub for Power Diagnostics if you don't have good fitting skills)
4x Large F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
3x Whatever Assault Missile Launchers 2x 280mm Artillery Cannons
4x Medium drones or 5x Lights + Spares
Tanks every level 2 ever. Cheap as beer and almost impossible to lose, also, it's a Bellicose and it has no other function in EVE unless you're inventing recons.

Good ship, good layout (that's almost the layout I use on my Rupture). But yeah, switch out the Acolyte's for a full set of Hobgoblins.
