Edited by: P''uck on 10/08/2008 14:17:55 Alright, if I understand this correctly this warning is the same for
-players with low sec rating jumping to highsec -players with low standings jumping to enemy highsec -jumping to low/null sec
So basically, pirates and FW pilots either have to -confirm EVERY lowsec and nullsec jump or -click "do not show again" but as a result of that they need to "showinfo" on every system they jump to, and dont know offhand?
If I understood that correctly, that's a bad design choice. Because it warns you of different threats. Concord/Navy/Hostile Players all need different approaches and give different options when acting.
I think we could have this reworked.

Use your words dude...
And judging by your title alone, go reset your warning messages, because there is a warning when you go into 0.4 and below.

harr harr, hit enter to soon. forgot you need to tab to the next textfield
anyways, read my post, its not as simple as that.
edit: ok, i just checked it out, seems there is no warning for low sec rating>highsec at all? but im confident i got one about the navy.
anyway, my point still stands, pirates and fw pilots could use some proper warnings, too. why should only highsec dwellers have that convenience

1) Don't be a Pirate and get a low sec rating. 2) Don't go play in your neighbors backyard if you've spent your life killing his family. 3) ... Could say "Don't go there", but it's kinda the point of Eve. So I suppose I'd say "pay attention to where you're headed to next".
I can see where this is coming from, but I think the vast majority would complain about too many warnings, and they'd turn them off anyways.

I think he means no confirmation if you are jumping lowsec/0.0 --> lowsec/0.0, which makes sense. -------------------------------------------------------------- Seriously, we need some kind of separation between the post and signature. There you go. Now that wasn't so hard |

Why not just color the stargates by security level of other side. No warnings, but additional information without having to click a dozen times.
Or add a symbol to stargates denoting the sec level. |

What about people who have negative security and accidentally jump into high sec? Why don't we get a warning?
Not saying I've done that of course, honest, because it would be, just, erm, stoopid --- I see fail everywhere, and it's like they don't even know they're failing ---

Confirm use of brain. Confirm use of map.
Yeah, I like that option better. Every thing that the coders add to the game like this adds to the mess and cruft.
Don't waste their attention with meaningless changes when there are massive unresolved issues to be dealt with.

This message does exist and it is VERY annoying...
edit: basicly it's just the message you get whenever you jump to lowsec/0.0, it doesn't matter where you are, it matters where you want to go.

On its face your complaint makes sense, but frankly, its designed to warn newbs.. If you have any buisness flying around lowsec/nullsec, you are advanced enough that its reasonable to expect you KNOW WHAT TYPE OF SYSTEM YOUR ENTERING with the warning disabled... ç¦ |

Edited by: P''uck on 20/08/2008 14:06:07 I don't know, it kind of sounds some of you guys are shouting "against!", because people with low sec ratings just are bad and dont deserve any useful gamemechanics or what?
If you dont want to go to low/nullsec, you have this warning, it takes the responsibility to "use your brain" from you (in fact thats bull, all it does is add convenience, but thats what this all is about!) but if youre a lowsec dweller that had some miscommunication with the law, you have to go around and check every system you dont know offhand, with either "showinfo" or "add as first waypoint."
iirc the mechanic around "confirm attack of innocent player" got changed, because it was useless in 0.0. this is another thing thats just bad design when it comes to aggro mechanics in general. and its certainly not too complicated to change i bet.
edit: the punishment for the crime of a low sec rating (or the unfathomable crime to have joined FW!) is the disability to enter highsec in slower ships. and NOT a cumbersome UI |

Original Idea /signed, adding the need to revamp the Original Ruleset: If you already are in a Dangerous Area you don't want to be slowed down by the Warning.
-1- Highsec to Lowsec -2- Militia Member to Hostile Faction -3- Low Player Security jumping to Highsec |
