I dunno, I don't think it really counts. It is an image of the girl, it's like saying a photograph, or a avi is uncanny valley. It's not really a full CG image. It's a photograph of someone, and they allowed a few areas to be dynamic, it's a more advanced version of jibjab type technology.

I thought something was 'off' about her, didn't look real. then I realized it's because it's just 2D. one photograph and then they morph it to make it look like she's moving. then cut holes in the eyes and introduce two artificial ones that follow the mouse-pointer.

I followed the other link to Motion portrait.
If you click under her nose, whe sneezes and if you click on her eyes, glasses appear. now ring the bell. Does anyone know Japanese? Try making the mouse go around and around her head really fast and she shouts 'minga maooh' or something that sounds like it. I'd guess it's probably something like 'stop that'.
