Sorry if this has been explained already but someone in my corp said that since the last patch, you won't get occassional implant rewards if you work for a kill mission agent, and only courier agents will give you implants as reward.
Is this true? TIA

Kill agents will give implants exactly like currier agents will, so much alike in fact that you'll have to actually have you kill agent give you a currier job for an important mission which is the same as the currier agent gives because they took out the kill mission which gives implants. Thus, the probablity of you landing an important mission and a currier mission at the same time is low, but not impossible, thus your kill agent can get you an implant. They have been doing tweaking behind closed doors, and there was a time when my kill agent all of the sudden only gave currier missions, and I actually got an implant...I have not yet recieved an implant for any kill mission and I hope they give us some soon. =======Abaddon=======

Quite, PapaSmurf confirmed that there was a known flaw in kill mission agents so that they had a highly increased probability of giving important kill missions. Problem? Only important courier missions give implants. So implant drops have been GREATLY reduced overall [or everyone has conspired to make fallacious claims on the forum and jack the price up. If so please eve-mail me so i can join this cartel ] and virtually non-existant from kill mission agents.
Hmm i do go on sometimes. In short, yes. -------------------------------------- "You arrogant ass, you've killed us." |

And when you finally get an important Courier mission with your kill agent they don't all give Implants, so do an other few hundred missions and hope for a Courier mission that gives an Implant

Hmm so if I have understood the above correctly: a kill agent will give out implants, but much less frequently than a courier agent will. Yes/No?

Yes/No.
Kill agents are supposed to give implants with the same frequency as courier agents, but currently are bugged. Patch pending.

MUCH less frequently than a courier agent. So much so I've given up completely on running my kill agent which I had garnered to a personal standing of 8.91 -------------------------------------- "You arrogant ass, you've killed us." |

Thanks guys, I'm finally clear on it.
So until this gets fixed (maybe in the upcoming patch?) I am ditching my kill agent and going back to courier.

Yea but your Faction and Corp standing still factors into how often you get important missions.
What is best is find multiple lvl 3 agents in the same station that give alot of kill mission. You work your faction and Corp standings up to high levels really fast that way. Then you can do courier missions later on and find important missions happen alot more often. This has been stated by Papa Smurf that it was Faction/Corp standings that calculates how often you see important missions.
Also another note on important missions I have noticed. If you do enough missions to raise your Corp standing by about 0.6 you have a high chance of getting a important mission. The cool thing is that you get that impotant mission for any agent in that Corp, even ones you have done no missions for.
I have tested this quite a few times and everytime I fiqure it is time to get a important mission, I switch to a agent in that Corp I have not done missions for at all. Sure enough anywhere from the 1st to the 5th mission I get a important mission. Heck I can't count how many times the 1st mission ever done for that agent and it is a important one.
So I suggest doing a bunch of mission for multiple lvl 2 and lvl 3 kill agents, there is stations/Corp that have as many as 6 in the same station. Then when you have gotten a Corp standing increase of at least 0.5 go do courier agent missions.
What I can fiqure out is the important missions follow a missions done for the Corp formula instead of a for the agent formula.

you can get a implant from a internal security agent, it has just taken me roughly 1500 - 2000 missions between implants.

consider this...
if talking to your agent while you have your battleship active...you increase the chances of a kill mission, yay...
By increasing your chances of getting a kill mission you effectively decrease your chances of getting an implant mission for they are courier missions.
So, next time an important mission pops up... hope you have your frigate or whatever active rather than your battleship - and you will have a greater chance of getting a courier mission
...bit buggy if you ask me ...new sig coming up Ravenal - Fate is what you make of it. |
