Beware gentle reader, for this is a story of treacherous betrayal by a Pod Pilot's closest associates. That is to say the crew. For you see, it's been so long since I've had to step into a new pod that some of my neural links have rusted (or something  ), resulting in reduced efficiency in my controlling of certain ship systems. Because of this I had to bring on additional crew members to handle some of the more mundane tasks such as target acquisition and weapons bay management. I should have known it was a disaster waiting to happen.
The day was August 12th of Eve Year Whatever. The place was Alentene, Verge Vendor. The mission was simple: fly to the Woenkee constellation and test a HAM-fit Caracal in Gallente Low Sec. But things went horribly, horribly wrong.
It all started in the neighboring system of Alenia. The crew... my... crew... turned on me. They commandeered my local comms transmitter and stated the apparent motive for their mutiny.
I responded as I always do to bad news.
It seemed that they felt that heading into Low Sec with only one level of HAM skill, when an abundance of T2 Heavy Launchers backed up by four levels of Heavy Missile Spec awaited back at my main hangar, was a suicide mission in the making. I say "it seemed", because their true motive had yet to be revealed. But I'll get to that momentarily. After I realized that vital ship systems were falling under the control of mutineers I broadcast an emergency message to the CONCORD units of Alenia, followed shortly by a similar message to units in Alentene once the crew had jumped the ship into that system.
It was after the jump into Alentene that the mutineers revealed their true intent: punish High Sec pilots for their lustful acquisition of wealth. Perhaps they were jealous of the low-risk High Sec lifestyle (me taking them into Low Sec and all, ill-equipped and undertrained), or perhaps they had some other reason, but if you view the chat log in the previously linked image they clearly state that they have a hatred of the natural love of money of the Pod Pilot. As you can also see, some local pilots doubted the veracity of the mutiny... at their own risk.
They warped the ship into the first belt in the system, intent on destroying those who make their living off of mining and commerce. I made a desperate (and quite frankly humiliating) attempt to placate them, saying that I would guarantee their safe passage to a Low Sec shuttle launch bay if they would stop this madness. It didn't work. Et tu, targeting systems operator?
In their madness they opened fire on the poor Catalyst belonging to Qu'thalan, an innocent miner. The results were sadly predictable. BAM!!!
They thought they'd get away with it... I don't know how. Clearly the cruiser crewmans' programs are not generating the same level of spacefarer today that they used to. In a better time I could ruminate all day on the philosophical implications of this... but my mind is so weary....

Simply wow. That's more roleplay than I could ever handle in my lifetime, in one single post.
I have only a fraction of the required crew on any of my ships, my pod isn't really a stupid egg, and isn't filled with any sort of goo (it's just anti-grav stuff with an internal forcefield to dampen all the movement... better than goo - and I have a nice shiny toilet I can use instead of tubes in my rear), and what crew I do have - I feed them ***** and they like it.

So...You suicide ganked someone in high sec and failed??? Happens to me every once in awhile too. I don't go all emo though and make outlandish posts about it.

Ah so C&P is where this thread went. Very happy to hear that everyone seemed to have enjoyed the read.
At the time I didn't really consider it to be an RP exercise. It was semi-scripted but done without briefing anyone in local beforehand, so it was just by chance that they weren't disruptive in local chat as it was all going down. Fortunately Alentene was pretty quiet for a system with 100 people in it.
