Just got into the driving seat of my brand spanking new stabber, sexiest ship ive seen tbh, absolutely love it. Too bad i cant do jack with. I get the feeling its meant to be a get in there fly about quick and shoot stuff ship? Yes? Well all i seem to do is, go in orbit at a considerably lousy speed and maybe have my auto cannons hit once? So out of frustration ive forced myself into a Rupture, nice looking ship, using an arty set up atm and its doing a hell of a lot better.
So any tips of how to fly or what skills to make sure i have maxed, seeing as the char its on is about a week old, and any decent pvp/pve fits would be nice :)

Edited by: Cpt Branko on 14/08/2008 04:04:52 Without T2 guns and good gunnery supports: don't bother.
If you are not going to fit T2 guns and load Barrage, and put 2-3 falloff rigs in your lows, don't fly the Stabber.
Oh, yeah, you need navigation&cap&etc skills too. Basically, if you're new, stick with the Rupture. Hell, if you're not new, stick with the Rupture, unless you really want to zoom around pretending to be a oversized frigate, or are using it to practice for a Vagabond.

Dam, i really liked that ship, ohwell.
Can i just ask for a suggestion? I cant really find myself a goal to aim for in terms of skilling towards, i just wanted to ask are there any ships with viable set ups of Long Range Artillery Bombardment. As if to say, warp in let hell loose with Artillery Fire and then bugger off :D

Edited by: Lilith Velkor on 14/08/2008 06:09:00 I'd say Rupture / Hurricane are the more solid choices for minmatar ships at this time. Its worth putting some SP into them as they become quite decent with good skills.
I dont personally like artillery, autocannons work better on both imho, but you can use them.

Stabber? I hardly know'er! But seriously, more people should have some type of spacer in their sigs to show it's not part of the post.

Here is my stabber fit:
4 220 mm Autocannon II 2 Arbelast Assault Missile Launchers
1 Microwarpdrive 1 Warp Distruptor II 1 Large Shield Extender
2 Nanofiber II 1 Overdrive II
The trick in PVP is to orbit them at some range, without running the mwd, if they are closing in, pulse the mwd until they slow down.
The skills you should train for this ship:
Gunnery: Small Projectiles V Small Autocannon Specialisation IV Medium Projectiles Medium AutoCannon Specialisation III or IV Motion Prediction IV Rapid Fireing IV Trajectory Analysis IV Weapon Upgrades IV
Engineering: Engineering IV or V Energy Management III or IV Energy Systems Operation IV Shield Upgrades IV
Electronics: Electronics III or IV Propulsion Jammin III
Navigation: Navigation V High Speed Manuvering IV Accelleration control IV Evasive Manuvering IV
Mechanics: Hull Upgrades II
This may seem as a daunting list of skills, we are looking at a couple of months of training, but you don't really need all at the level I stated here. This list is for specialising in the Stabber and its Faction and Tech 2 brother, these are the skills you should aim for. None of these skills are bad anyways if you want to fly Minmatar Cruisers and Battlecrusiers. If you aren't going to fly the stabber, you might want to get your drone skills up. T2 Drones are well worth it, as are ECM drones.
we are recruiting!

Same as it was before the nano nerf, fitting a small tank and playing it tacticly.
But that said this ship will never come close to matching vexor/arbitrator/omen after patch imo.

Nano ***ging fittings and more specificly skilling.
This is hardly looking at the long term since this is unlikely to be viable after the nano nerf (though most those skills are good to have anyway). Maybe this will work with an afterburner but you will get burned by fast frigates with buffers if you have no tank.

Okey it wont match the vexor or arbitrator but hmm arent you exagarating when youre saying it wont match the Omen?
