greets,
is there a guide around on this subject or maybe someone would like to write couple of words on the subject please ?
what skills are required for that ? i've heard that vexors are good, preferably at least a gang of couple. also heard people mentioning 'alpha' strike something. what's that ? and what ships/etc. have the 'most' of it ? :)
thanx :>

Most importantly, you should choose a character with the Drama Queen specialization, and train Whining to V as quickly as possible.

What is there to right a guide about.
You have 10-30 seconds to kill your target before CONCORD takes you out.
So you need to deal enough damage in that time frame or you fail.
Alpha-strike is the measure of how much damage you deal in one volley.
Weapons that have a large alpha-strike typically have a long cycle time and therefor lower DPS over time.
In limited time frames, such as suicide ganking, Alpha-strike can be more significant than average DPS.
Compare a gun that does 40 damage every 3 seconds with a gun that does 100 damage every 8 seconds.
Overtime the rapid firing gun will obviously do more damage than the slower firing gun. However, if you only have 10 seconds to kill your target, the greater alpha-strike is more effective. The rapid firing gun has time for 3 shots, so would deal 120 damage. The slower firing gun has time for 2 shots, so would deal 200 damage.

Why do you have to come troll this post?
It is not like suicide ganking is being removed, it will still be possible, will just take a little bit more firepower and will give more severe sec hits. I know it is not going to stop me. I personally agree that suiciding has gotten a bit too easy when I can kill a hulk with a vexor that cost me less than 5m isk complete. But its not going to stop, there will always be people stupid enough to make themselves a target that is worth the sec hit/ship loss. -=^=-

So long as it require to choose a target instead of "gang anything, you will always get more than you lose", it is ok for me.
For the OP, if you want to do that, test it a little on Sisi (Singularyty, the test server, you will see how to connect in the Game Developement Forum). Killing a ship fast isn't so easy if the target is a least a bit tanked.

thank you for replies everyone. yes, i am aware of the dev's plans to make suicide ganking more troublesome, yet i'm sure it won't go away :) personally i'm not really after looting unlucky indys, etc, but what excites me is the fact and opportunity to kill ships worth several dozen mils with a ship that's worth less than 10mil.
can anyone advice me please regarding best ships suitable for such task ? i've already heard about vexors. are those the best ones for the task ? has anyone ever calculated best ship/fit for maxed alpha-strike dps ? i'm really excited about this subject.my main char was into industry for past couple years so for a change i really feel like flying around and blowing things just for the sake of blowing them :)

to get a vexor to enough DPS to suicide sucessfully you need gallente cruiser 5 and extremely good drone skills (4m+). A basic fit would be as follows:
4 named neutron blasters non named AB, web, scram 4 named magstabs 2 ogres, 2 hammerheads and 1 hobgoblin
For lower SP you will need to go to a more expensive ship, a good candidate for this is a Bruitx as follows:
7 named neutron blasters MWD/AB, scram, web whatever 1 reactor control, 4 named magstabs 5 hammerheads
There are other options available of course, these are just a couple that I have used and have seen used.

Destroyers are the favorites for suicide ganking:) imho anyways
a lot of guns which means nice dps, u dont need a lot of tank anyways...
and...a nice desty with t2 guns takes just a few days to train if you picked carefully in char selection. which means you can gank with another char instead of ur main, and ask a corp mate to salvage/loot for you. (you have 3 char slots in 1 account, use them!) This way you dont lose standings
although sometimes you might need more than 1 destroyer...
happy ganking
