this is a joke, right?
Instead of banning the scammers who have all but destroyed the market(both open and escrow), you stroke their egos with a news item and further alienate players with specific times for them to be online to complete this fiasco of an "event"?

Isn't it about time we put an end to all this scamming anyway? It's pretty obvious and easy to spot isn't it? Can't we just, I dunno, send some CONCORD agents to the scammers and 'deal' with them? How cool would it be to sit in a station setting up scams and suddenly your ship is gone and your clone dies? Not very cool right? Exactly, what that's what we want scammers to think about when they set up their little schemes. There's consequences for it in RL, why not in EVE?
Of course people could say ' well if you don't pay attention and get scammed it's your own fault ', which is true, but do we really want to spend 80% of our market time sifting through scams and schemes just to sell or buy our stuff? Frankly I think it's getting rediculous.

Name-copiers were promised a ban, Tease, weren't they?
This doesn't bother me, personally, but it may effect those who worked hard to collect the parts and find they have to logon at some impossible hour to take part 
Will there be cross-timezone purchase times, kieron?

Well, I actually originally figured that the buy back would be through trading with CCP controlled NPC commisoners. At least that way you know that you've for certain given your stuff to the right side. Will also fit in more with the RP side of things with a "real" person rather than a buy order in your wallet.
At least this means the buy-back can go ahead and to me, though I guess it depends on your outlook, is a little better. Will also be interesting to see who gathers for the different buy-back dates and what corps etc are involved in different racial efforts. It's a little more transparant than just knowing that there are buy-back orders to be filled. Heh, we'll need reporters there to conduct "exit-polls".

The event only turned out bad, and this subsequent decision was made due to idiots.
FAR too may times has this game been spoiled for me. As a by-product of this scamming fiasco buggering up the buy orders, I would VERY much like to see scammers at least recieve some kind of reprimand. I dont care what anyone says, it IS exploiting game mechanics for personal gain, especially in this current situation.
Please CCP, do something about it, they are destroying your game.

Joke, Joke! Event is strike by day-to-day situation at market. Wshouldn't be this one of main reason to work on market fix ASAP?
Why we doesn't have after year of game working market? Something like we shall see all buy/sell orders not only highest/lowest market scammers? Why we shal not be able sell to selected bid/ask?
Make market global and for all items in game, make it searchable only with criteria and pay per use? Only searching for basic items and ship should not be charged to condome new players?

I don't like Jove. I trashed the ******** who teleported himself wrong. If he gets restored, I hope, that he'll miss a finger or something. Or maybe he could be bald. Oh wait...  .

The problem is that it wasnt name scams that killed the buy orders but a crappy market system  .
If someone puts in a buy order at more value then the buy order set by the npcs the buy order set by the npc's basicly just dissapears.

How about letting people set restricted Escrows to the Jove Part Collector People at their home station too, kieron?
There's a risk of people not restricting the Escrow and losing them (I lost two named ion blasters that way) but it's better than making them have to wait until you guys appear.
