So here i was yesterday minding my own business and suddenly i got this mail:
Quote:
2008.08.15 00:02 Silent Ninja's has declared war on Interstellar Hunting Federation. After 24 hours fighting can legally occur between those involved.
So stunned as i was from the initial shock i checked the info on them.
It turned out they have 9 members. I am all alone in my little corp.
As you can see the odds are way in their favor and there is no chance in me beating them ever
Now the question remains:
Why on earth(or space) did a 9 man ninja corp wardec a 1 man corp ?
-Maybe they like the odds ? -Maybe they just need ninja practice ? -Maybe they want to fill their killboard with select-all > fit to ship mails ? -Maybe they suck balls ? (ingame)
The ceo is TerraWatt and i have no idea how he could know me as i never met him myself nor did i ever had a conflict with their corp
So please good people of crime and punishment... HALP !
What do i do now ? I feel like quiting over this
...oh and

Congratz,
You have been wardeced by griefplayers. Those are "empire pirates" if you will.. they operate in high sec and just war dec on any corp they think they can grief at. You are a nice target to gank 9 to 1.
Simple solution:
Make a new 1 men corp for yourself and the war will not affect you in your new corp at all, as it is against the old corp and not against your character! Inorder to resign ur CEO role you must put in an alt to take over CEO of your current corp. Just make a trial account if you dont have a char left to do that.
Then continue on ur new corp and contract all old corp items to your new corp and you have all corp assets transfered. Then go on with what you were doing before.
This is called corp hopping.
When they make war to your 2nd corp, then hop over to nr 3, etc, untill the first corp has no war dec anymore. Then hop back to the original corp and you have got ur old name and offices back the way it was before the war. For eech corp they make war against they millions on war decs without even 1 kill... if they grief, just grief back!
GL!

Now this is exactly what you do not want to do, sure they probably will get bored and give up eventually or they may just keep decc'ing you out of spite. Either way you will gain nothing at all in experiance be it just EVE in general or pvp.
My suggestion would be this, you either:
a) buy a bunch of frigates with cheap t1 fittings (pvp fit of course) and float round when the war dec goes active. Avoid fighting pretty much by using safe spots, tactical bookmarks, warp to zero (frigates align and jump fast). Just keep an eye out for 'targets of opportunity' like haulers mining ships etc. There is a strong chance you will lose in a straight out fight to anything but another t1 frigate or said targets but hey its cheap. Eventually they will get bored of either killing t1 frigs or not killing you at all, additionally you could learn so valuable experience from it.
or
b) the second option which is the one I really recommend is look out for a corp to join that you can learn to pvp in as a low sp player, either through lessons or a mutual wardec they have running. Particularly Red vs Blue corps if they are still around and active.
Things you should not do:
1) Undock in your mission/mining/hauling ship...ever. While they war dec is active you should not undock in either of these ships, its asking to be ganked, its asking to die and its asking for the wardec to continue. As well as being the highway to poverty.
2) Get your pod killed, its nigh on impossible to lose your pod in empire providing you take a few steps. When you are dying select a celestial object, spam "warp to" as you hit hull right up until your pod is in warp. Then warp round for a minute or two before you attempt to dock.
3) Not log in/sit in station through all of it. Remember you are paying to play eve sitting in a station or not logging in isnt playing. Of course its nice to sit and chat in stations/play poker, just do it because you want to not because you fear for your ship.
4) Hire mercs. It's not worth it for you in my opinion.
5) Call them griefers like the poor sap I quoted, yes they war decced you, yes there is profit in easy ganks. But hey taking on people in a fair fight isn't profitable (sure is fun though), they are just out to make isk like everyone else. Once you understand this you can work around it, calling them griefers and whining about it just isn't going to get you anywhere.
Ummm this kind of turned into some incoherent stream of various thought trains, it was only supposed to be a quick reply
If you find yourself in a fair fight, something went wrong

We have been contracted to declare war on you, Nanja.
I have not spoken to our client (henceforth referred to as 'HIM') personally. As such, I am not certain as to whether HE wish to remain anonymous, so I will not reveal HIS identity here. Having been wardecced by Nanja and corp, and having thus recieved some punishment, HE feels understandably aggrieved and so has brought us in for HIS protection.
It is the conviction of SNJA, that any person or corp prepared to wardec others should be prepared to mount defence in the event of being wardecced themselves, without complaint.
In truth, our most recent wartargets have not been particularly pugnacious; we had been relishing the opportunity to fight someone with some backbone, and we had assumed this was likely to be you Nanja.
This thread is therefore a rather disappointing display of cowardice, made doubly so by fact that the fighting hasn't even started yet, and you're already whinging about how unfair the whole situation is.
In short: either grow a pair, or don't PvP and expect there to be no consequences. Preferably both.

As far as Mercenary professionalism is concerned, I find it odd that the contracted corp goes out of bounds and actually responds to this thread in this particular fashion. Not only that, but your commentary has made it very transparant for the target corp to get a general if not more exact idea of who your client is.
Client information should be kept private at all times unless a contractor explicitly wishes it to be otherwise. I would also like to point out that the target corp can basically do what it pleases, even if the contracted player(s) feel that their client is being badly spoken of. Provide your arguments with gunfire, thats the way a client in most cases prefers it anyway.
Just my 2 cents.

You don't sound like much of a fighter to me (@ the OP) so what I recommend is taking a week off from mining and spending it in jita trading. You can easily increase your wallet by 10-20% a day if you pay attention to what's going on.

9 vs 1 is good odds, atleast you know the most thatll jump on you is 9 ships + however many out of corp logisitics ships they have to rep them, least you know they can only bring 9 at most ;)

Oh I see you pulled the wool over my eyes and wasted a good chunck of my time, I thought I was helping a newer player but noooo. If only my sec status wasnt so low I would come and join in even the odds out a bit. 10 vs 1 sounds good to me

Aesheera... it would be pretty obvious who the contractor is, through cursory examination of the various data openly available to Nanja (and indeed anyone else who cared). To Nanja, who isn't nearly as stupid as he's pretending to be, I expect he knew EXACTLY why he was wardecced, immediately. The partial confidentiality of my original post is not to prevent Nanja from finding out about the contractor. It is to protect HIS identity from folks on the forum. My purpose for posting here was to expose Nanja as the Christiano Ronaldo of Eve, taking a dive when we haven't even got close to tackling him yet!
Nanja... I look forward to being used to polish the linoleum. My disappointment appears to be short lived. Hurrah.

Nanja,
Just wanted to quote this from your corp description...
Quote:
I. 24hrs before war dec:
Smacktalk is plentyfull. You will claim this will be easy for your corp/alliance. You cannot/will not lose.
II. First contact:
You will get "slaughtered" and smacktalk will still be plentiful. According to you we were just "lucky" "cheating" or you lagged out, basically any excuse will do to reject or conceal the truth.
III. Second contact:
Once again you got decimated and outclassed in every way. At this moment the more realistic types will know all hope to win is lost. However some might reject the truth and repeat this step again.
IV. Demotivation:
Morale in the corp is non-existant. Corp activity sunk to a new low. Members are scattered all over the universe and no one has the will to fight.
Congratulations, The hunting will now commence
I think that says enough. Nice try at getting someone from C&P to act as your meat shield though. Enough smacking about ball sucking(in game) etc. See you in space.
Aesheera,
Your rules are your own and you don't know what we have agreed with our client on this occasion. Just my 2ps worth.

1. You are from january 2008. Please tell me you can't be serious (although, props for doing the wardec business this early).
2. You wardec people, you should expect mercs, etc. to come after you once in a while.
3. Your efficiency sucks.

Well, yes, our corp name is punctuated incorrectly.
Congratulations on singlehandedly having undermined everything our corp stands for by pointing out this eminently relevant piece of information.
