yea im pretty sure ganking in high sec is a pretty carebear gank move. this list explains alot in general about high sec/eve online and some suggestions for all the people on the form claiming they are pvpers HARD CORE (omfg they nerfing my insurance)
1. killing someone for 90% - 10000% gain and almost 100% security is pretty hoe bag. 2. if its not ment to be safe then ditch the cops and make everything 0.0 if this game is "hard core" like I keep hearing it is. 3. get rid of docking in stations thats 100% safe cant have that ( if you ever docked in a station your a carebear) 4. your a ****** if you think your pvp even if its not consensual, call it ganking stealing robbing mugging whatever but its not pvp ( 20 ships on a gate blowing up a few ships coming through is not pvp either) 5. Insurance on any ship = CAREBEAR 6. this game has WAY to many safe areas in it to be a pvp game 7. everyone should gank and live in high sec 8. getting pod killed = joke there should be no clones (HARD CORE OMFG) 9. ganking someone then hiding in a station or logging off is pretty hard core PVP (HARD COrE OMFG) 10. IM SO HARD RIGHT NOW
p.s. change the over view so it only list a generic ship name with a corp tag or something rather than thier name adress and home phone number |

You know, I just want to see people who do criminal activities build up a 'criminal record'. I don't want to see the *ability* to do crime taken away. Not in the least. But the *punishment* for said crimes (theft, suicide attacks, etc) needs to be adjusted. CONCORD is a little to omnipotent, and there needs to be a degradation in real security all through Empire.
Don't ask me what this could be. I like the idea of CONCORD 'freezing' a criminal, preventing them from docking, running, etc. Empires could lock down assets owned by that person, etc. Corporations could be flagged as criminal organizations, and thus lose the entire corporations privliges in that Empire.
Players could have 'warrants' out on them, independent of the overly-simplified bounty systems. Imagine having warrants out on you for all Empires?
Players wanting to pursue a 'peacekeeping' role would work for CONCORD, etc.
Bah, hairbrained ideas. Hehehehe ...

They are pirates and they are allowed to blow you up anywhere get used to it or leave.

"High" is a relative term.
It IS high security...relative to low, or no security. When it is renamed "absolute security", we can talk about this.
This guy has it right.
P.S. Ganking is getting nerfed so be happy that the gankers will no longer get insurance when their ship is blown up so they will have to make sure that you are really worth ganking. So if you do not want to get ganked get friends to escort you or once again find another game.

Originally by: sybertek THIS IS ONLY MY 2ISK. Just an observation thats all. I'm sure others won't agree. I'm new, like 6 monthes...6m sp's, love most of the game..or the idea anyway when it works. Which brings Me to a glaring "thing" I noticed. Everytime I come to a gate or station with several big goons sitting there, (BC's and BS's),Murphy's law begins. Drop down screens are wrong or won't allow the correct one till near compleat stop giving all there a nice long time to scan and **** with the help of the program it seems. I've really noticed it at stations where 3 or 4 ships will pop out of the station while I'm still docking....great, now I can't leave with this cargo again. That kind-a brings me to the last point. In most of the big market areas there are way too many Battlecruisers and Battleships sitting around just waiting to step on a little frig. It has to be pretty successful with so many doing it. So how is this "High securty" space? Look, I like pvp, started in pvp games in 99-00 but thats not what this is. It's always soo lopsided like above..(BC/Frig)to be called anything like pvp. Theres no "Verses" when They walk over and step on You lmao. I kind-a have to laugh a little...Great big Battleship and it's hanging around stations waiting to crack an old lady over the head for her purse. Come-on guys....go to 0.5 and down where it is expected. Or at least try to pick on someone more Your size. Anyway, no I haven't lost a ship, I just think CCP's cop force or "high sec." is compleatly mis-named because there is none. It's more like the slums or inter city where You can't walk home with groceries or You'll get mugged. The only security is after a giant battle breaks out, then the cops kill EVERYONE !!...kind-a like East LA where cops fear to tread and shot first ..ask later. All I'm saying is would You call these places "High security"? The game is great...really,(w/the exception of the program making a victim out of You) there is lots to do, just wish I wasn't always under a knife point when I'm trying to run little errands while in "High security" space. To My way of thinking, "High security" would mean illiegal acts would not profit soo much that They grow and flurish the way it is now. That would be called "Low security". In the real world I'd think Your "Concord" was on the take. I enjoy pvp but I don't injoy getting cracked over the "Back" of the head when I'm in "High sec. CCP-High security Army-Army Intelligence seafood-Jumbo shrimp All terms of contradiction, add it to the list. k, now you can all slap me around...

Thats a great idea, as soon as concord isn't some omnipotent God entity. Pod pilots are supposed to be the very elite, those rats you kill in missions are supposed to be the regular crewed ships.
We ought to be able to declare war on empires and attack them.

It's EVE PvP. Generally in EVE, due to the risk of loss, many people specifically seek to avoid a so-called "fair fight". Most people look for low risk of loss, high probability of success situations when it comes to PvP. So, you'll have to get used to the fact that EVE features a lot of ganking, even in "high sec". "High sec" doesn't mean you are safe, it means that when they attack you they run a good risk of being blown up themselves. This tactic is being nerfed because the ship insurance is going away for suicide ganking -- but it will still exist if the cargo scanner sees juicy enough loot. As to why these people are not staying in low sec and ganking people there: the answer is that lowsec is generally very empty, and many players avoid it completely -- there aren't very many targets there.

The next EVE nerf will fix the problems with CONCORD penalties not being harsh / persistent enough to make high sec piracy as costly as it should be.
I'm not sure what they will change, but IMO it should not be possible to simply grind your way to < -5.0 sec status in a couple of hours. Just like kill rights last for a while, the penalty should last for 2+ weeks. Then something must be done about people using multiple alts/accounts to circumvent CONCORD punishment.
The current mechanics aren't logical, friendly to new players or challenging for older ones. Noone should complain if they are fixed except those few who are simply "grinding noobs" in high sec.
How to PVP: 1. buy ISK with GTCs, 2. fit cloak, learn aggro mechanics, 3. buy second account for metagaming

I wouldn't call it "high security" unless I saw at least 3 CONCORD ships at every place in a system. Roid Fields, Planets, Stations, etc. CONCORD needs to get fired, when's the last time they stopped someone for doing a 14 AU in a 6 AU Zone?

CONCORD is going to instaspawn, or just about, in the next patch (so they say.) This will be like having CONCORD ships at every location. Hopefully their DPS and EWar will be reduced though to compensate.

See the mistake your making is thinking "pvp" means "fair, e-Honourable, queensbury rules, equal player v player" when all it means is player v player which is basically means real people competing against real people, in EVE pvp does not necessarily involve exploding space ships either it covers market interaction, trading and manufacturing as that's all people competing with other people.

The problem is that topic starter is just plain paranoid. If you think that every BS or BC in high sec space that isnt doing anything is about to suicide gank you, yeah then you can stay docked for a long time.

Grinding -5.0 sec status to over -2.0 doesnt take hours it takes days so get a clue before saying its easy since its obvious you have never done it.
I think the OP is a bit paranoid thinking every BS/BC is there to pop small newbie frigs, why the hell would they want to do that in highsec anyway they kill a small frig and CONCORD kick their ass in their bigger ship.
Lots of people have wars or travel afk or just sit around not doing much it doesnt mean they are trying to kill every little frig they see as they would of been kicked out of high-sec long ago.
