Me personally I'd never do this as a sport, spraypainting seems like a waste of money to me. That being said we're going in again early next month, the guys at work. Should be about 10 vs 10, all amateurs and some good unclean fun.

Now we're talking. Ego '05, Halo, 47ci 5K fibre wrap, just got a Stiffi barrel (what is it about paintball and innuendo?) which has made an amazing difference to the accuracy. Jacksonville, you lucky thing, did you go to the NPPL event? I went to the UK Millennium series event in Basildon (affectionately known as Bas Vegas) where I fell back in love with the sport again.
Personally, I've just got back into it after a long break (previously owned a '97 Auto****er) and have recently been going to walk-ons at a place just around the corner from London Bridge station, it's under the railway arches and is pretty darn cool. I would like to get into tournament play, though there's the small matter of finding a team first.
I have a dream of going to Huntingdon Beach next year

Masks aren't the issue, venting on some works better than others; the key is getting a thermal lens.

I have only done paintball the rental way so I have never had the equipment to experiment with. If you can not find anyone that knows of one that does not fog up, I persoanlly would try to drill a few extra vent slots/slits to increase air flow in an old mask before I tried a new mask. Not sure if this would work or even if the masks would split or not, but I thought I would tell you what I would try.

Ive got one of the original wallmart raptors. The bolt action on it is a loud mother trucker.
I also have a spider compaq with a double trigger. It doesnt need it as the trigger sqeeze is so light.
Both guns have a tactical amount of tape on the front of there barrels to allow for a custom barrel extender. It makes it so all you hear is the bolt.
Both guns also are in need of a repair kit, years of sitting in my closet have degraded the springs and orings.
As for a mask, ive got a cheap one from wallmart. some brass eagle mask. to keep my mask from fogging i use a trick i learned from free diving. countertop dish soap has worked for me. ive been able to get a full day out of my mask without it fogging.
my absolute fav finishing move is to outflank my enemy and ninja behind them put my gun to the back of there head and make them surrender. when i have no ammo left

I love a bit of bunkering, high risk, but if you can pull it off it can win you the game. It's either you slowly work your way into position and pick off your victims, or in a speedball game, wait 'till literally the last minute and make a run for it.
Either way, getting up close puts the fear of god into some folks and gets you the best bruises

depends. im happy with my olde proflex 7. but! as soon as temperatures get unreal and you start to sweat like don king's asscrack no thermal lense will help you. (like woodland games when theres no wind)
in that case, and im not even bullshitting you, a small fan that sucks out the air inside the goggles is your best bet. sometimes that can filter out noises around you, but mostly its better than the fog filtering out vision.
you can buy this crap from jt or build it yourself for a tenth of the cost. all you need is some small batteries, a switch and a 1x1cm fan. oh and:
Originally by: Slade Trillgon I persoanlly would try to drill a few extra vent slots/slits to increase air flow in an old mask before I tried a new mask.
be vewy vewy kaeful when you twy that, I would never drill around in my mask. I know from some tests with old masks, that you can push em well out of boundaries, but still thats no reason for me to risk my eyes.
edit; oh and something else: it saddens me how the pb industry works : LOADS of clueless people without the slightest understanding of physics and the manufacturers are rubbing their hands, because they can sell everything to those idiots. i mean, people STILL ask "which barrel is accurate" while the question was answered almost 10 years ago, pretty detailed too. it has nothing to do with your barrelbrand, but everything with bore size and length.
oh lol, and shorter is mostly better than long, to you sniper types unless you go shorter than 8". long barrels are for pushing air covers aside, nothing else. mmmkay?

Yes true and considering my background I am surprised I missed this warning also
But yes if you try drilling, start with vey small bits and keep them to the lower aspect of the mask, say around the manufactured vents or around the chin region. Also, for drilling into plastic, try heating the bit a slight bit before hand. This will allow the hole to open a little easier, this has worked with other plastic objects have worked with like arm, wrist, and ankle braces, but the plastics could very easily be of different make ups.
As P'uck said try this on an old mask before you try it on a nice new shiny one.

just a little btw, the tests with old masks i made hadnt anything to do with drilling.
we just have a shooting range at the chronostation, and there are like 5 masks or so, which are "not good anymore" for years now. one day we had some free paint, and everybody was too lazy to play one more round.
so we had 3 guys shoot 10 to 15 bps on the same glass (which already was cracked) and it took us approx 3k rounds to get the first paint through. still, i would never ever test my luck when it comes to masks. (same with airtanks, probably)
its just, when it comes to masks im a bit overly cautious, and it dont think its a bad idea.

**** that, I wouldn't recommend doing anything to your mask except adding manufacturer approved equipment.
The reason I mentioned thermal lenses is because once I installed one I never had a problem with misting. I've currently got a Dye i3 pro which works great. It costs ú60 in the UK, imo it's silly to try and find a cheap way to protect your eyes - I SAW BIKER GROVE YOU KNOW , poor PJ

friend of mine installed two small fans, on top of the goggleframe. he had to widen 4 holes that are there anyway, to get the cablebinders through. id say thats completely safe and i would do THAT. but not much more.
a bit like this (just found it on evil google imagesearch) mask fan
edit: this is the "sledgehammer solution". whenever you play in circumstances a normal thermal glass fails (or even the glasses that have been treated properly), this stuff will clear out the fog.
we had woodland games in the spring, without any wind, and everything was moist from the past week of jungle-style rain. and it was so friggin hot, you wouldnt believe it. nobody could see shit, but when you have a fan, you turn it on for a few, move a bit slower, and soon you can play on normally.
i love it.
edit2: its probably a good idea to try that with masks, that have sunshields you can put back on, so your fan is protected from hits and spray.
