Well I had my first real PvP experience last night and also lost my first battleship!!! lol
Out fighting rats in 0.0 with a few mates, one of use lost a ship and went home to replace it, as he jumped back into the system we noticed TimeKeeper(-4.5) in local, uh oh!!!
Next thing we know he's jammed our mate in his Caracal and we're (Thorax and Mega) warping in railguns blazing!!!
In comes a new player..... My Adrenal Gland!! and to tell u the truth, he's never played eve!! lol
What is it about Adrenaline (Epinephrine to you lot over the pond) that turns me into a spaz? I thought it was supposed to help me save my ass!! lol
So shaking like mad, I warp in on top of Timekeeper, intead of at my optimal range. He quicker dispatches the cruisers and we lock into a fierce Mega on Mega battle!!! (oooer) Ogres as far as the eye can see!!
But I'm inexperienced and don't understand why his amour just won't die!!! lol
Anyway, hats off to TimeKeeper, a great pirate, who chatted to us all through the fight and a long time after too....
I lost my precious Megathron, but also had the best evening ever on eVe!! :D :D :D

Nice to see a non flame post & someone who hopefully will come to enjoy pvp in the future.

Yes insured and already got the mins for a new Mega! :)

PVP is a steep learning curve.... u will get btr as time goes on, pretty expensive to learn in a mega though:).

Half the fun, for me anyway, is knowing that if I screw up or my opponent is just that much better then me, I will lose something big. (Yes, losing a battleship hurts in my world).
The test server is a good place to learn but nowhere near as fun and exciting as the real thing on TQ.
On another note, good to hear you enjoyed your first pvp even if you lost.

He'll prolly kick my a** for this but when he told told me about it (a few minutes after), he was still a little shaken. A 3v1 leaves most players shaken, expect Nilkarus, that Pompous McPompousPants.
Side Note: When there is so little at stake (only reputation on the test server, i guess), Epinephrine is in short supply. and Epinephrine kicks ass. Its partially what makes this game so great.

Being a jerkwad pirate... i usually don't go up against odds like that. People who know me know that I usually wait until I have a force of 20 battleships to take out one. LOL JK. Yeah it was a huge rush to fight you guys and i hope you learned something.. my armor tanking saved me and i'm glad lollerskates convinced me to use it. Hats off to you guys once again. What goes around comes around... so my day is coming... i am sure. BTW i agree with going to the test server to use new setups.. however the atmosphere in that server is so relaxed that you don't really get that awesome rush and sense of accomplishment when you blow the crap out of someone. HAPPY HUNTING DUDERS

I Also was out near S-U8A4 and saw Timekeeper camping a gate.
Only he was in a Megathron (I think)
Fired up the old Aburners and waved bye bye as I flew right by him through the gate in my Rupture.
He never even had a chance.
If i wasnt in such a hurry i would have stayed and "Played" a bit!
Remember Boys and Girls Speed is your friend..
On Another note He has alot of people who respect him in S-U8A4.. In fact they wish he would turn back to the light as he is a Awesome Player.

TimeKeepers the guy who got my first PvP thing too, lost my celestis, shot at candy's tristan as I was dying = no jumping for me, and a nice trip to the cloning station

Nilk never shaken??? we must not be thinking of the same Nilk. Yes he's usually calm and cool. But he's yelped a few times. Not saying I haven't either. It happens to all of us that adrenaline gets flowing and you can't stop jittering.
Btw congrats to Time, Just remember if your going in to battle. Take a deep breath and just focus on what your doing. Keep your head and you have a much better chance of keeping your ship.
Remember though, "just be faster".

i almost got a taste of what it feels like to get shot down by TimeKeeper last night as well. I was sitting at a gate in my Inty in 0.0 space alone, checkin my mail when something appears near me. . . . a Megathron which just unleashed her hold of Ogres. I am glad I started paying attention then as I jumped out but lost my shields, hehe.
The 3v1 battle musta happened after that.

Actually I think Tophereon gets all of us Pvp'ers respect for coming on this board and taking his loss as a positive and not bad mouthing the one who destroyed his ship.
BTW I hope Timekeeper hasn't changed his bio, if you haven't read it, then I highly recommend it.

iv met timekeeper to. His ship shield and armour/struct was all red when i met him. What do you know, he made it out alive *winks at timekeeper and smiles*
