...not really. But as an advertising thing they chose a single outlet where they took all variations of the whopper off the menu and secretly filmed everybody.
Bloody brilliant.

I'd love to go where the burger is really a burger and not a pattie made so thin you can almost see through it. To quote my American friend when he got a Macdonalds burger in England: "I've seen more meat come off a cow when it rubbed against a fence."
Pity these American companies like BK and Macd's don't bring their real American burgers over here. What they sell here is nothing like the burgers they sell in America.

I think those are actors. No real human being would get that upset over those wet floppy shoeburgers.

the main problem is utter lack of competition in Europe compared to the US. They pretty much own the fast food market here, so they increase their profit margin as much as possible. Quality is much lower as a result.

I like it, the video that is... people don't like it when you disturb their normal routines... or force them to think. ;) 'what... I can't have the burger I've had every day for ages? ... I have to choose something *ELSE*? *rabble, Rabble-rabble!*'

You may be surprised, lol.
And yes the commercials were very funny. I just find the King to be quite disturbing.

This happened quite some time ago and was a marketing campain. To be honest if those are ligit people and not actors (when you take the entire campain into account) I weep for humanity if the loss of a junk food sandwich that smells like B-O and B-M causes such a angry reaction in the masses.

I'm with you on that. Seems like it could be people payed/asked to act like that to make it look like people actually care about their products.

honestly our Mc'd and BK burgers aren't that great either. You want a real burger go to a hole in the wall joint. My personal favorite is Merritt's cafe where a burger takes half the plate.

I lol'd. Kinda funny how we americans react when we can't get our pre-packaged, pre-cooked, freeze dried patty made out of low grade beef.
If you want a real burger, make it yourself.

At least over here, it's simply because no one else does the "burger" thing. It's all patat oorlog, frikandellen, kroketten that actually gets the customers ^^

Judging by the terms used, we're from the same country. But what I mean is, that because unlike in the US where besides McD and BK there are many other fairly large fast food chains, Wendy's, KFC and Taco Bell being some of the more well known ones. McD and BK have to deliver decent quality food at competitive prices to keep their market share in the US, while here they more or less own the fast food market. Sure there are some KFCs in the netherlands, but they're pretty rare while you see BK and McDs everywhere. The smaller snack joints are indeed more popular, but when you're in a hurry you usually drop into a McD or BK rather than visit a small snackbar because you don't need to wait nearly as long. Both McD and BK are well aware of this and shaft their customers as hard as they dare, because they know we don't have anywhere else to go for our fast food needs.

Coincidentally, America has the highest percentage of obese population.

Lol you have too much faith in humanity then. When they pulled tomatoes off the market not long ago because of the salminela (spelling ftl) some dude actually pulled a gun on the cashier in a nearby BK because they couldn't give him tomatoes.

To be honest I really dont care, aslong as the obese people dont complain about their"affliction".... If their fat and happy best to them..... And yes I do know some of them are obese because of a childhood defect and these people im not talking about, those that have a genuine disease can talk about their affliction if they wish.
However, I love the whopper, I know its bad for me and made of bad things, but its good and I usually prefer it over high quality homemade burgers.

BK, Wendys, McNanads, blow. If you want a good burger, you need to go to Carl's Jr. or Red Robin. _

Wrong. If this happened in the UK the BK employee would get stabbed and/or beaten up by a gang of youths.

Then the employee would be arrested for assault when it's discovered he tried to kick one in self defence.

you underestimate the willingness of the customer to *****, whine, moan, groan, ask for the manager. over tiny things. when i worked in retail the register messed up the math a bit, and was two cents off what an item should have been with the saver card. and the customer threw a super shit fit over it. yes over two cents and this was back when i could fill my truck with 18 gallons of 93 octane for 23 bucks. |
