Recently our system have been plagued with cloaked ships that interrupt ratting and day to day roamers. Does anyone else out there think there should be some way of finding them? Fitting a cloak to a ship should not render you somewhat invulnerable. Of course I get the whole not within Xkm and all that.
What I think would be a good idea would be if you were able to put a script into a sensor booster (maybe make it T2 only) so that if anyone was within 75k of you when its activated the person becomes uncloaked. They could put it down as a description that it emits a certain frequency to scramble cloaks. Any thoughts?

You should use Search, there are a number of active threads on this topic already. |

I thought there might be, but maybe if we get enough threads the dev team will listen :0)
I take it they haven't so far? |

Stop spamming NEW THREADS and try actually discussing things in existing threads. Sub 50 response posts I think are less likely to draw Dev attention, because it probably means that the community isn't actually interested in that idea. |

Be more organized when you rat get ppl on your comms and into a gang.
Originally by: XV236 and day to day roamers.
Roamers doing what?, looking for a fight?..keep roaming then....

No or you may as well remove cloaks out of the game.

It makes it as invulnerable as it is a threat ie: 0 threat 0 kill able.

Local is the basic anti cloak system, for a more advanced anti cloak see "get you sh*t organized and they will not be a bother". |

'interrupt ratting'
Funny, I thought 0.0 was supposed to have some sense of danger. |

copy pasted from the other cloak thread, because it applys here as well:
I never understood this whine, if a ship is cloaked what harm can it do? If a ship uncloaks then you can kill it, as much as it can kill you, just means you have to be careful.
You don't even have to leave the system the cloaked ship is in, just make sure you watch your overview, if he is in a recon, or covert ops, your ratting ship should tank him well, if you lose your ratting ship then you need to rethink your setup.
I have never had a issue with a cloaker in my space, they show up, the cloak for a few days, they kill stupid people that don't deserve to be in the alliance anyway, then they get board when the dumb pilots log off and they leave. |

Besides, those of us who use cloaks for stealth hauling would have no way to skirt the gate camps. |

Edited by: Glach Duwat on 21/08/2008 17:11:32 Cloaking is not unbalanced. Your idea is just as bad as every other cretin who wants to make cloaking useless. |
