Ok this may have been bought up before it may not but im gonna bring it up anyway
CCP can we please please have a way to change your name in game, because theres the idiots like me who chose this kind of stupid name because he didnt expect to play it much longer than a few weeks and based his name on the chemical symbol for uranium  So the name didnt really matter, but then ended up playing it for 5 yrs.
Theres also the problems where im in a fleet op and they say "UR is primary!!" and everyones like "hey wtf? why am I primary". And the fc shouts "NO UR UR235 IS PRIMARY UR235!!" and then there like "o right well you coulld called it clearer in the 1st place!!!" and then the FC is like "SHUTUP SHUTUP JUST SHOOT HIM" etc...
So yeh please CCP think of implimenting a way in which we could change our names even if its for a fee of 10 euros or something. I wudnt mind paying it and you will squeeze some extra money out of me so everyone is a winner. |

While the intent is nice, there's too much abuse potential for this idea to ever be implemented. Firstly, it would be a way to escape a reputation. The reputation you earn for yourself amongst other players is one of the most important features of the game, and changing names would throw that out of balance.
You can also just imagine the wealth of abusive names you could come up for people, like the ever so common "make it sound like your foe's FC is calling himself primary" names that everyone loves to joke about.  |

Or even make a time limit for name changes. Like, once a year or something... I don't really care how far apart it is, I just want mine changed once.. It's bad enough my character is stupid looking, but I've got to deal with being stuck with this name because, like Ur235, I didn't think I would be playing this for very long. What's worse is I've already got a character on another account I never got past trial that has the name I want :( |
