In some Amarr region missions, you get this nasty thing of a Punisher. It's blue, with large gun appendages, tiny stubs for fins, and two revolver like thingies near its main wings. It protects some nasty Arbitrator special that is blue and black.
This Punisher looks like a frigate, but whatever its firing does not sound like a frigate weapon. It's seems like a cruiser sized Heavy Pulse laser to me. Furthermore, it tends to drop cruiser sized loot too.
If you're in a standard Punisher frigate, you won't want to mess around with this baby.
Is this what we may expect of future elite frigate NPCs and player ships? A frigate with enough power grid and CPU to mount at least one medium gun?

Yep, definetly the best looking ship ive seen yet. If you notice, those round modules near the engine are the same the malediction has, so i think it is the elite version of the punisher. The cruiser weapons look sweet on it to

I've noticed that the NPC's that fly PC ships are TOUGH buggers... I do know that they're flying a customiezed version of our stuff...I ran into a Minmitar Freedom Fighter, flying what looked like a Slasher, but he gave me a hell of a working over...Having flown Slashers before, I know that a good gust of wind will pretty much take it apart, but this little guy took a good pounding to kill. I looked into my database, and his Slasher is pretty durable - a damn sight beefier than the ones we get, and this one turns out to have almost the same hull/armor/shield as a Rifter I'd hate to see what the freedom fighter with a customized Rifter looks like....

I read the title of this post, and saw that it's a "Khanid Officer"
In that case, he's using a weapon that has a 20k range, does 16 EM damage with a 2x damage mod, and refires every 1.5 seconds, and he also fires Thunderbolts. His ship has 1000 hull, armor, and shield, and goes 225m/sec. Effectively, he's flying a cruiser, it just looks like a Punisher - he also does some serious EM damage...He's also allergic to Explosive and Thermal damage.

The Gallente Agent (or is it Officer?) flies a Tristan that has 2000+ hp (killed him in a BS a couple of times so it can't be because he's shield boosting or recharging either).

Ok, under the umbrella of "NOT BLOODY FAIR!!!".....
While parsing data in my database, I find that several of the NPC's use TECH II MISSILES... grrr..... at least they're using lights - I'd hate to meet up with tech II torps.. 
Here's the offending parties - they all use Tech II Bloodclaws:

Oh nice. Have a fuzzy warm feeling seeing that. Wonder if we`ll ever get to fly em?? Gotta hope so.

Ok - I dug around in my DB some more, and he's flying a "Vengeance".
Vengeance is one of the two planned "Escort" class elite frigates.
The other is a "Retribution", which you can see by going and looking at Sarum Navy Major.

The 3rd turret is the Malediction is missing. Plz make as much noise as possible so that CCP gets us a remedy for that, possibly before X-Mas this year. |

Ahh ive seen those buzzing about. They do look pretty evil with guns i dont recognis on the hulls. What are they based on. An Inquisitor or the Tormentor??

U misread my post mate. I was refering to the ship flown by the Sarum Major. Saying that maybe im getting mixed up with the Sarum Captain it def aint a Punisher he flies. If i can get a screen shot i`ll post it sometime.
And yeah DOH, i know thats a Punisher varient in the pics.

dunno he said the other version of the punisher in effect.................prolly not being flown by sarum then :)

I have not seen a Sarum Major. All I've seen is the following
Amarr Navy Sergeant --- Executioner-Interceptor type hull. Also has Ammatar and Khanid version, the latter being the basis for Malediction.
Sarum Navy Captain --- Someone should post a picture of this for everyone to see. This is a cool looking modification of an Inquisitor with ruby red hull, massive side launchers, big guns. Will be the new Amarr Elite Inquisitor?
Sarum Navy Colonel --- A modified Arbitrator hull with a silver blue color. it has these launcher things attached on it.
Khanid Navy Colonels---black and blue Arbitrators.
Amarr Navy Colonels---black with gold Arbitrators.
Sarum Sergeant Major --- Silver Blue Omens. Khanid Sergeant Major---black and blue Omens; Amarr/Ammatar Sergeant Major---black and gold Omens.
General Majors---All the faction General Majors are the same which is an Armageddon.

Well, I'd bet it's the elite frigate, Assault frigate class, Khanid version of the Punisher (there is a second version by another developer, just as with the interceptors).
But that NPC sure looks like it (by mistake) has been given medium sized guns instead of small, hehe.
