well as a newbee hauler i am going slow whit the small hauls in my ilteron mark IV.
i only take the small conracts now and only on stuff whit a low value.
the reason for that is that i get ganked almost every 3 day outside jita 4 moon 4.
but it still not help me at all.
i feel like it is a tradeblocade some times.
my frustration over this is making me considder deleting my char. 
i hope it will help getting an obelisk just for the hp.
but it takes time and isk to get one and if i am not doing hauls i wont get isk to get one but at the rate i am loosing ships atm.
i will probl never get that big hauler.
do anny one got the same problems and what are you doing about it?

Jita is suicide gank central, precisely because of all the trade.
Tank your industrial, don't fly blithely around on autopilot, and use insta-undock bookmarks.
Hell, I use insta-undocks in some places just to avoid being constantly bumped by the stream of traffic. |

If you fly a t2 hauler, either the huge tank one or cloaky its a lot harder for people to gank you (as long as your paying attention)
Even a t1can be a little harder to gank so long as your not afk and have a tank. |

Here's a thought - don't haul in/out of Jita.
Go to another hub like Rens or Amarr when first starting out.
Here's another thought - put some tank on your hauler so it can survive a few shots until Concord comes to your rescue. |

i fly around jita for years now and wasnt ganked once, even scanning my ship happens so often.
after all i always use a insta-warp-point.
buy a fast ship, fly straight forward from the undock at station at least 150km, more is better and make a bookmark.
now after undock do nothing except a single right click, select the bookmark and warp to. your angle on undock is somewhere between +/-15-¦, so its best if your bookmark is excatly at 0-¦ .. needs sometimes more tries to make one.
if i fly empty i think i get scanned about 10% of undocks when i decide to skip the insta-warp. are you sure you arent at war with someone? |

As for one other thing mentioned here:
Iteron Mark IV is the fourth of five T1 industrials for the gallente. If you don't know that, ouch... researching is hard.

Yes, with the blockade runner, a little bit of sense and a covops cloak can make you almost impossible to catch, so I'm told. And this is from people who bring stuff though gatecamps and even into enemy territory.
But yes, get the Gallente Industrial V and then try out a blockade runner. I don't think the deep space transport is that great a deal. Freighters I don't know much about.

As you can see OP, Eve Online is full of heartless twits.
I was ganked in an Itty III with 1b worth of cargo last year. It was my fault. Since then I've contracted my hauling to others. Haul in an ordinary Iteron (not the Quafe edition) and ideally less than 100-200m isk worth of cargo. Or if the stuff is small, do it in a fast ship. |

Ive taken Billions out of Jita before sometimes in a shuttle. but i do plan it out well. warp out points and never go afk.

He's not trading, he's hauling contracts, small ones.
People are doing all kinds of crazy **** with the new t3 BC's and everyone knows it's pretty out of control atm.
I've had at least 3 ATTEMPTS on my haulers (which I tank) by people who are new to it and trying it out.

Ok, the OP is a moron for using that ship in the first place.
Now that that's out of the way...
OP, you need to get Gallente Industrial to 5 first and foremost. Get out of the massive flying target, and into a Mk V.
Second, you will need to get your shield skills up to at least 4 in the major areas and tank the hell out of it.
Third, don't use cargo expanders if the contract doesn't tax your hold in any way. You're just making it easier for them to kill you.
Just a reference for you, I use three warp stabs and a pair of nanofibers for my lows. I turn and align at about the same speed as a normal cruiser without any modules. This setup has survived multiple alpha strikes from ships like the Maelstrom which has an insane alpha capability. If you can get your effective HP over 10k you should survive one hit and giggle all the way to the bank. |
