Without proper and actual statistics, it's hard to claim something, but I do have reasons to believe that number of whines (particularly nanos and ECMs) have had massive increase after introduction of FW. I smell Caldari.
It's like a prison. You have a certain number of people there. They are aware of the conditions and knows how to deal with it. Then a bunch of tourists come in, then decide to whine about conditions instead. Skewed and biased view? Hell yes. Why the hell do you think I'm spending my valuable sleeptime making a thread like this?
This thread is about your thoughts on introduction of FW and people refusing to 'adapt' (or not), hopefully with an outline of why you think so. Your rough background will also be nice if you would mind including it. Discuss.
P.S. - Tears, nano***s, carebears or your sister's, are not delicious. Old meme is old. Come up with something else original, creative and witty, FFS. |

Where did i say they didnt? But pretty soon the topic was dominated by nano alt trolls. (well that was at page 20 where i lost intrest in the topic). |

Had CCP put forth a reasonable suggestion on fixing nano's, I'd have supported them, since I think nano's needed a small nerf (especially the pimped ones), but this patch is just ridiculous in its breadth. IMO it's not so much a refusal to adapt, as that's just a label people like to bat around, but rather frustration with CCP's poor decisions. I'd have been very happy had CCP implemented some of these changes (buffing AF's is good, I don't mind the scrambler change), but I'd rather see them implement only a fraction of the nano changes. Maybe just remove polycarbs, or bring them inline with the other modules. But don't change EVERYTHING having to do with speed, which obliterates nano hacs, screws with BB's and requires a missile rebalance.
As far as ECM balance, the falcon might be a little too powerful, but I'll be damned if I'll really argue that on these forums, because CCP seems incapable of implementing a reasonable patch to "slightly" nerf something. I wouldn't think it's that hard to make minor changes, test them, let them go live, and the reevaluate, but they can't seem to figure that out, heh. Rather, they shoot from the hip and make major changes, which impact all sorts of other areas of the game, and then start slapping on the duct tape and rebalancing those areas. 
While I do love EVE, I've never had less confidence in gaming dev's to come up with patches that improve the game. |
