I can't think of seeing a single thread on general discussion forum that wouldn't be better suited somewhere else.
Nerf threads for instance = any of the "inside eve" forums or features and ideas.
Any random question about any part of EVE = the relevant forum.
It has been said many times that this forum is not for eve related spam, but for the life of me i cannot think of any other use for it.

Ironically, this thread is probably the only thread on this entire front page that i can't think of a better home.
All other threads are more at home in other forums.

Hmm. Nerf threads technically should be in the Ideas and Discussions bit.
I guess it supposed to be for the EVE related media and things. Like when Curzon Dax graced us with his wonderful voice, or when Chribba announces another tattoo or his affair with Scordite.

This thread? It would have to be moved to some "Forum Suggestions" section as it's not EVE related

True, but there isn't one. I guess off-topic would be wrong too as this is relevant to the general discussion.

General Discussion is for Forum PvP. Whines do not belong in the more 'constructive' forums, because they are more Forum PvP and less useful discussion.

EVE General Discussion is and can be used for a wide variety of topics. GD is generally the first area in which responses to proposed game change Dev Blogs will be discussed, usually under the flag of "Nerf" threads. It is used to inform players of new programs from time to time (EVEmon, EFT etc), promoting new EVE related music tracks (courtesy of Alienhand etc) and for informing players of EVE related articles in the press.
The above are merely examples of the diversity of the GD section. Players will often ask why threads get moved to lesser volume traffic areas like Features and Ideas or Ships and Modules. The reason for this is that Devs in Content and Design read those forums on a daily basis and are geniunely interested in good game changing ideas. Keeping threads on those subjects in a centralised area does not mean your thread is less important - it simply means it is there so that the right people can view it more easily.
