I just got one of these keyboards and they're pretty cool....
Is anyone using these keyboards? How do you like them?
Is anyone willing to share their macros for EvE?
Thanks in Advance :-)

First, it's the GENERAL section....
Second, the Keyboard has 15 programmable keys....I just want to know how others are using them in EvE. That's NOT a crime.
Third, climb back into your hole and bother someone who deserves it.

Don't listen to him. I've got the G15 V2 (orange and only 6 macro buttons), love it anyway though.
As far as macros go, I would probably do it up per-ship but for my PvE Drake/Raven I just have the G1 key as activate all high slots, for instant missile launching power. --------------------------------- From #eve-chaos [11:47am] Ulviirala: my damn balls are bigger than these veldspar roids |

G15's are allowed, they still require user input.
I just use the Teamspeak and Evemon on the screen while settin up the buttons for quick tackle, fire all guns at once ect ect.. normal stuff really.

Gryphius,
How, exactly, did you program one of your keys to do that?
I'm still new to the game, and haven't fiddled with the keyboard much either.

I don't know the interface for the G15, but all you do is program it to hit F1-F8 with a single key press.
You might also want to assign your drones to a shortcut so that you can include them in there. The option to do so is found on the Esc-menu.

on the old style,
Press "MR" Press a "G" Key, Press the keys you want that "G" Key to press, Press "MR"
The screen will guide you anyways if you have the software installed.
EG: MR->G1->F1-F6->MR

I've got a G15 V1 [IMHO the better version for the blue lights :)] and I've got G1 assigned to F1-F8. You could also do an EWAR or tackle combo which engages scram and web or damps/EW etc. at the same time, but I don't fly EWAR a lot so I can't be bothered to set it up.
G15s are also deemed fine by CCP, and I know lots of people in-game who use them or G11s. You still have to hit a button, it's just that you've bound those buttons together to work when you hit one button. It's a far cry from hitting one button and have it do an entire mining cycle, deposit it in a jetcan, go back to the station, pick up a hauler, pick up the jetcan, go back to the station, put minerals in your hangar and start the cycle over again

I use a G15 as well... I haven't really found a use for the programmable keys.

Thank you Both :-)
Anyone else use their G-keys to accomplish tasks?
I find that mouse-clicking everything in sight is somewhat complicated and quite rushed at times....I'd like to find something for my left hand to do to take the load off of my right (mouse) hand :-)

Edited by: Morel Nova on 22/08/2008 16:58:46 I use my G15 for eve and I love it. I usually have a setup for each ship type, but generally: 1. one button to fire all guns (yay!) 2. tackling stuff when I want to be quick 3. drone commands 4. on/off all support modules like tracking comp, sensor booster etc 5. armor reppers. I got a bind where they are staged with a delay in between.
oh, also the display is golden for showing who last spoke in teamspeak etc. It was also welcome for showing time left on skills when I wasnt just grinding lvl 5 skills for ages :(

I use a teamspeak addon for my G15 display (LINK, i have found that it is extremely useful during 100+ man fleet ops, it shows who is speaking + recent speakers, number of people on the server and in the room. Also i have the 6 g-keys macroed for eve, one for highslots (guns), one for tackle, (some of the mids), and one for hardners etc.
The rest i switch about frequently, for launching drones and other cool stuff. All put together, i wouldn't trade my G15 for the world (: ----------------------

I'll have to look into that Jump Bridge passwords idea, sounds like it'd be useful. |

I love my G15 and I honestly can't imagine playing Eve without it.
Currently I have macros for this: G1: Toggle all high slots G2: Toggle selected high slots G3: Toggle scram G4: Toggle web G5: Overheat highs G6: Overheat web
Obviously this varies a little from ship to ship.
The Ventrilo and EveMon applets are awesome as well. It is really nice in Vent to be able to see who is talking or trying to talk as well as who just logged in/out. It's also nice to be able to see how training in progressing on every char I have without having to bring up the char screen or log on to an alt or go to the Eve website or alt-tab to look at EveMon. Yea, I'm lazy. ----- My Pirate Blog: http://evenewb.blogspot.com/

Edited by: Stephanie Jones on 22/08/2008 19:45:39 well lycosa doesn't actually have macros so if you need those get the g15. Other than that it's nice, and the blue glow combination is awesome :)

I heard from a friend that a friend of his set up one where it was precisely timed to uncloak a stealth bomber, start sensor booster, wait a half second for him to CTRL+click his target, cue all launchers, wait a 3 seconds, then cloak him again
this apparently is done through the keyboard manager app, not just using the record-macro button - -

You could time that all yourself, but it does not have a special "time key manager" thingymajig.
