Hi.
I've never sold any characters...but have a science focused character i don't really use and would like to sell it.
I was looking at creating api key and was wondering what boxes should I check for this.
what would be the minimum information and the optimum . also will the character need a little bit of isk in the wallet?? I see ppl post positive wallet and don't understand why that's stated?
oh also in api creation at the top it asks for (name) and toward the bottom there is a drop down option for the character you wish to api.....what do I put in the name box??? my name? I did not understand.
thanks |

The "name" is functionally irrelevant -- it is a value that only you ever see, in order to better keep track of your keys and be able to differentiate between them.
Give it a name you can recognize, like "Data for char transfer", or "Killboard feed", or "for eve-board.com". There is a Trade skill called Margin Trading. What it does it let you put up buy orders without putting the full amount needed to fulfill it in escrow (I.E. the ISK is taken out when you put the order up not when someone sells you the items). So as I understand it, if you put a buy order up with this skill, but don't have the ISK to completely fulfill the order when someone sells to it your wallet will go into the negative. |

You can get to negative wallet if GMs remove ISK from your wallet for some reason, such as buying isk from RMT shops.
Since you need ISK to buy or sell anything the player buying the character will need to know if the character needs additional isk to be functional. This is to reduce the shenenigans with money laundering I suppose. |

Margin Trading can't make wallet go negative - only GM actions.
So "Positivite" wallet just means that character has 0 or more ISK, doesn't matter how much more. So before selling character move all ISK away since it doesn't matter if char has 0 ISK or 1 bil ISK, as long as it is not negative.
