ok here's the deal: i'm currently pushin my 9 to 5 and decided to check my friends character (not the 1st time) to moniter his training times as i'm currently doing all his skill training while he's back in school.
now this time when i log into his character i get a warning that the account doesn't belong to me and that concord has been notified!
sooooooooo............should i be worried? and if so can it be fixed?
thanks for any input!

Don't worry, both your accounts will soon be banned for account sharing. Time to look for another hobby. Bye-bye.

Account sharing is an EULA violation.... Bad luck.

At least in the past CCP didn't ban accounts just for the sharing. But if there is any problem your accounts will be seen as alts. That means if your friend is buying ISK or any other banable offense you both will get punished.
Given that there is still no skill queue (YEARS!) there is not much you can do beside filing a petition explaining the situation and asking the a GM for advice.

First off the others are right. Both accounts will most likely be banned. Try appealing and explain that you had only good intentions if you can. It can't hurt at least.
Secondly if you want to monitor when skills finish try Evemon from here.
Thirdly set long skills when you can't change. It doesn't matter if it's a week long one and you only want 12 hours. Your partial progress will be remembered when you get back to it. |

Use EveMon to monitor. Let ur m8 swap skills himself. (better to lose a few hours training than lose both accounts) __________

Account sharing is forbidden.
Both accounts will probably get banned. Your account, because you logged into some other account which doesn't belong to you. Your friends account, because he gave away his password.
Sorry m8

Probably from the IP adress. Tbh, I'll doubt they'll ban you, but if there are issues then you will get banned as well. Although it is against the EULA, CCP seem to ignore it untill there's trouble.

Simple. You have 2 accounts logging in from different IPs, and all the sudden they start logging in from the same IP. If one of the accounts keeps alternating between the 2 IPs, they'll know it's being shared.
Of course, it's not as simple with dynamic IPs and all that, but still, patterns can be found that give away the presence of a shared account.

He's trolling.
Allways going to be a winner in this forum, no shortage of people lining up to tell him to expect a ban
Who hasn't logged their account from a different ip/location before, net cafes, mates houses, iv'e even logged mine in the past from round my old mans house when iv'e got stuck over there, client takes what 5-10 minutes to download
CCP start suspending accounts on that basis, man are we in a world of trouble.

ccp isnt going to go flying off the handle and ban accounts as you need to remember like the guy above me said, we dont always login ourselves from the same place, and we do pay money for this service.
if you get banned, you really screwed up to the point where ccp goes "you know what? your moneys no good here. gtfo" __________________________________________ When Will I be able to post again ? 13 days, 23 hours, 55 minutes, 36 seconds |

A single account jumping IPs all over the place is never a reason for a ban, even with those **** web-browser games that only allow 1 account per player. It only becomes relevant when 2 accounts from supposedly different owners start logging in regularly through the same IP.
EDIT: And as far as I know, CCP never bans you for account sharing. They just 'tough luck' when your account gets stolen/hacked.

It doesnt work like that. If you correctly enter the password, it normally kicks off whoever is currently on the account. afaik. __________________________________________ When Will I be able to post again ? 13 days, 23 hours, 55 minutes, 36 seconds |

well there's no way in hell i could screw up bad as i don't ever cheat in any way or form! hell, i hate cheaters as i come from Battlefield: 2142 and that game is chalk full of em. well, i was merely trying to help my buddy out is all no harm intended. it would really suck if i did get banned as i really don't want to go back to playing BF:2142!
so at this point i just wont touch his character anymore and just hope like hell they wont screw with me as it would **** me off if 2-months goes down the drain like that! and i really like this game too!
