Ok someone told me that the website looked like there was too much going on so i have made a new temlate which the site would take.
Here is the 2 versions

Id like your opinion on which would look better.

TBH, while I appreciate the efforts that it obviously takes to put together quality L5 mission data, I personally prefer the simplistic look/feel of the eve-survival site over either of those two designs.
Just my .02 ISK.

My blog (which I didn't write the template for) shows side menus below the main text when you open it up in IGB making this quite a good format, don't know whether yours does the same. I definitely prefer the new over the old one.
There are several readability style guides on the web but in general the key concepts are good contrast but not so wide a difference that it's painful, good size margins so you aren't having to read too far across the screen (but when writing for IGB this doesn't apply so much as you just move the window to suit), left justified text, a truetype fairly plain font, and a decent size leading gap between lines.
http://www.wpdfd.com/issues/23/typography/ is a good example.
