The Eve intro video says humanity has pretty much maxed out living space in our home galaxy so I've always thought Eve would have to be really, really, really freakin' far into the future.

look on the left of the screen, and you can filter a timeline for each race, and although most races are the same for like the first half of the line, the next half is different

2003 = 23341AD = 105YC
2004 = 23342AD = 106YC
2005 = 23343AD = 107YC
2006 = 23344AD = 108YC
2007 = 23345AD = 109YC
2008 = 23346AD = 110YC

compounding effects are pretty scary in due course. a scientist worked out how long it would take using von neuman probes to put one in every system in the galaxy and it was only a few tens of thousands of years. we really ought to be hip deep in the things if anyone was actually out there. |
