Hi,
Since the autopilot don't take us to 0km I would think this is to encourage us to play the game more actively.
So isn't it pretty counterproductive then that the autopilot is the only way to get a notification that a waypoint has been reached. Making it almost impossible not to use the autopilot on long go-gather-all-the-junk runs.
So I would suggest either a separate method to give a warning that a waypoint have been reached.
Or to just delay the autopilot warp after the gate jump a few seconds (while you are cloaked). This would allow the pilot to override the autopilot and warp to 0. In essence allowing manual flight with the autopilot and waypoint notifications on.

If you are manually jumping, is it so hard to pay attention to what system you are in?

Yeah it is when you got 10-30 stops along the route. I can't remember them all, and if i do a list i still miss something cause it isn't in the same order as my optimized route.
Only way to it without missing something now is either on autopilot or to fly from the star map.

If this was WoW you'd have really earned a big LTP.
Just learn to use your user interface. There are tools there, use them. Assets interface is your friend.

There are plenty of things already in the game that do exactly what you want. The top left of your screen will give u all the info u need, what system your in, current destination, Sec Status of the systems in the route, and believe it or not, way points.
Also if your feeling adventurous, you can try using your asset window

Edited by: Caldari 5 on 25/08/2008 19:45:07 I can't count the number of times that I've been manually jumping and missed a Waypoint, to pickup gear, a Few times I've even gotten to the final destination that I was meant to drop the gear off at, and realised that I haven't picked up the gear at the previous 2 waypoints. Now I no longer use waypoints, I set one destination at a time. It would be great to have a notification that you have reached a waypoint, I might actually start using them again.

(The major problem with that infomation in the top left corner is, that when you are at waypoint one, it says that the current waypoint is waypoint two)

Edited by: Isidore Tailleur on 25/08/2008 23:46:56 Where does it show waypoints?
There are a number of dots and it shows the next and final destination. Not whether it's a waypoint or not.
This is a big problem when picking up cargo all over the place, but the asset window is of some use there even you can still easily miss stuff if there is a lot of it.
It is an even bigger problem when doing courier missions grind. The station I am flying from now have 8 courier agents. The asset window doesn't show me drop of points and my monitor is not big enough to have all missions briefings open. There are absolutely no other ways to do this then to fly on autopilot or with the with the star map open. (well you could copy your route down with someplace i guess, but that is completely archaic). There is F11 for some map data in flight but it doesnt tell squat about the route...
What is the problem with just showing that the next system or reached system is a waypoint someone where in regular flight? If CCP want us to fly actively they should give us the tools to do so.
