synK Caldari State Protectorate	Posted - 2008.08.26 11:28:00 - [1] im sick of losing ships to FW, to be fair, im sill getting more kills than losses, but the cost is severely outwaying the numbers. i want a ship that can tank like a ***** but still deal a fair amount of damage. currently im flying a sacrilage which has a pretty mean tank on it. is this the kind of ship i want? im about a week away from T2 HAMS whch i'll fit to it asap. i dont really want to use T1, too many drakes and not enough DPS. so i cn fly Caldari, Gallente and Amarr up to CS's. so yeah, a decent tank, and above average damage id like. ind of like everyone else really, but ive spent some time away from the game etc etc. thanks synK this is my sig

ANY ship you bring that can tank better will be regarded as a primary target for opposing militia pilots, and hence be killed FASTER than some cheap-ass no-good-at-tanking ships. Playing minmatar is "like going down a flight of stairs in a office chair firing an Uzi".

Nothing will result in best kill/loss isk ratio. Even when you lose the BS will be a mere 30M or so loss after insurance. ------------------------------------------------- If brute force doesn't solve your problem... you are not using enough

Also, tactics wise - pick targets that target you. In a vaga i generall float around popping of random shots and waiting til someone agresses me. a few hundred DPS point blank will normally end most ships and stop them hurting you. Warp in at like 60 away, start BBQing anything cruiser and smaller. range + t2 resists + damage control gives you enough buffer to warp out if need be, you have ridiculous range, damage, and tracking, and if it's a large fleet the enemy BS won't likely be shooting you. Start by shooting blackbirds/rooks/falcons, since they are very good things to explode and melt in literally seconds to 450 dps from Scorch (EM damage, go!), then move onto things that are lightly tanked and likely to shoot you (cerbs are good choices), after that you can try to melt frigs for maximum killmail whorage or add a goodly chunk of DPS to the primary. Watch out for vagabonds since they are moderatly resistant to your damage, have good buffer, and will jump onto your ass and eventually kill you. It helps to target them early since you can deal an awful lot of damage while they're MWDing toward you, and if they start orbiting you at 20 you can load multifrequency and throw 500+ damage at them, while they're shooting you with barrage against your 90%/80%/60% explosive resist, virtually untanked. __________________________________ Originally by: Arthur Frayn How much to ruin all your holes, luv?
