According to Wikipedia's pretty good entry for Eve Online, "As of October 2006 the average age of an Eve Player was 27 of which 95% male, and 5% female." Just wondering if that ratio is still (or ever was) accurate. It seems that there are more female players than that. (And I'm not just basing that the avatar images...!).

You are questioning the 95%/5% figures, but seeing the average reaction to any female outing and the number of posts on the topic, I suspect the less accurate figure there is the 27.

No, that 27 is accurate. You're failing to differentiate between the average player and the average forum poster, which is of course much lower. :) The 5% is probably about right too. I've come across a few female players, but just a few. Don't really care, the girls that enjoy this game and get online play it just like anybody else.
I promise nothingÖ. --CCP Prism X |

Edited by: Inago Yaki on 26/08/2008 19:04:25 I just saw the forum thread 'A true Eve question' on the same topic. Some pretty pathetically immature comments on there. I should have read that before I posted on a nearly identical topic. Our corp of about 12 has two female members, so I was hoping maybe the female:male ratio had improved over time. Anyway, I think we all agree that it doesn't matter at all. I was just wondering about the demographics.
